here are the ideas for the mcm songs that were gonna be included in d-sides freeplay

only dumped and doomsday were planned

lets start with doomsday

out of the main week's songs, we were only gonna do doomsday, but we also had an idea for how a full week would hypothetically play out, i'll just go over all of that first bc doomsday makes the most sense in full context

humiliation would be you playing as squidward AT the concert, the song would intentionally be rather bad, and squidward would be getting booed throughout it. at the end of the song, everyone was gone and squidward was crying, but one person in the audience was applauding
plankton

in mist, you'd play as squidward with the opponent being plankton, the two are talking about getting go know each other (setting would be similar to reunion from crunchin)

by the end of the song, they both look happy

there'd be a cutscene between mist and doomsday explaining that plankton was simply using squidward as a part of his plan and begins mind controlling him using the buckets from the movie, and now he has a bigger body to do his schemes in an easier fashion.

so thats all the hypothetical "what-if" week stuff, and the context behind doomsday. none of that was ACTUALLY PLANNED, but from here, all of it was planned

so doomsday would be bf stopping a mind-controlled squidward, who's about to push a button which activates a device that blows up bikini bottom, which plankton made out of revenge

it was a LITERAL doomsday

events in doomsday would probably be a flashback to the concert again but at a different angle with you playing as bf, who was there, and booed him

in the ending half, bf would probably pick up a guitar and start shredding like in vanilla dumped

the song would end with squidward becoming free of plankton's control. we never really discussed much for doomsday outside of these ideas; it was the second idea we came up with.

onto dumped, the song we conceptualized first

little to no concept art was made for the song, but very detailed descriptions

i pretty much tackled the whole idea here on my own, as dumped was the song i wanted to add the most since it's my favorite from mcm

i wanted to take more inspiration from the original bootleg spongebob story since very little of it seems to be present in the original mod.

you're playing as pico, he and his gang are trapped inside an insane asylum.

by the time the song is played they've been trapped in there for about a week and a half. they have no way of escaping, due to inexplicable phone bugs, barred doors, bulletproof windows, and so on. no one knows they're in there, and they can't tell anyone outside that they're in.

in the asylum, there's very little food, only a single vending machine which they shred through about 4 days into being stuck, so by now there is no food, and there hasn't been any for a long time. their only source of water is a fountain, as all the sinks have broken faucets.

there's also not much in the asylum, meaning little to help break out. the most they have is something to entertain themselves: an old tv, a vcr and a vhs with a single episode of spongebob on it.

the vhs wants whoever's watching it to kill whoever they brought with them, and it just so happens that pico has a whopping 6 people with him, totaling up to 7 in the asylum at once, ripe for the pickins.

so by the time dumped is played, everyone is looking for an escape or food, while pico watches spongebob, silently going crazy from starvation. as he watches, the vhs puts thoughts in his head to make him angry at his friends.

stuff like "nene found food and isn't sharing" or "darnell found away out and isn't telling anyone", messages like these would flash across the screen as the song played out. pico is THINKING these, but the vhs is causing them; he would never think that on his own.

the song was meant to have a more intense tribal feel like actual spongebob songs, since a lot of mcm songs feel like. well, being honest, they feel like megalovania.

anywho, it was gonna get more intense as pico got hungrier and hungrier.

thats pretty much all we discussed, but i imagine the song would ended with it being implied that pico snapped and killed everyone. (obviously a noncanon song)

i thiiiink thats everything we had conceptualized for mcm d-sides. we may have discussed served at one point, but i honestly don't remember. either way, we were only gonna do doomsday and dumped.
