@Mabl2K NASA’s Fire Information for Resource Management System, or FIRMS, is a tool that detects active fires and thermal anomalies.

It has long been used to track wildfires, including the forest fires that blazed across southern Europe this past summer.

But posts can be taken down by platforms or uploaders at any time. Bellingcat has created the Auto Archiver to help researchers quickly and easily archive online content. bellingcat.com/resources/2022…

Bellingcat hosted its first ever hackathon earlier this month with the event focussing on developing network analysis tools. 

Projects that analyse Reddit posts, official business registries and VK accounts were all created, along with much, much more

This could be in the shape of texts or videos that show how to use technical tools or explain methods from which open source investigations may benefit.

On the Caribbean island of Barbuda, big changes are afoot: a new airport, golf course and luxury resorts are being built.

But some worry about the environmental impact and question the benefits the developments will bring.
