"Abuse in the league was systemic...what we found was verbal and emotional abuse and sexual misconduct wasn't limited to one team, one coach, or one victim."
"So many aspects of a player's life were controlled by the job that they did. The result was some players were afraid to speak up...players told us they didn't know where they could go [for such complaints."
Yates on what she heard from players during her investigation.
"In order for there to be transparency and accountability...this investigation needed to end. We identified system issues that needed to be addressed."
Yates on the coaches/GMs that were left out of this report, she says that NWSL and NWSL PA investigation will look into those.
