The importance of #NFTs in the #ReFi space is something many may overlook as just another expected component within ReFi given that we are operating on the blockchain.

There is something very unique that is inherent to NFTs that the ReFi space in general is lacking.

It is all too easy to end up in echo chambers.

Spending time amongst our fellow ReFi brothers and sisters discussing the importance of acting now and what that action might look like.

Many of the engaged members we see in one ReFi project's community, we see in others.

This is key in such a young space, where collaboration will lead to a flourishing ecosystem for all to enjoy and continue building upon.

However we struggle to reach new members and audiences outside of the ReFi space.

This leads to ReFi projects for lack of a better word, competing for attention.

It is difficult to gain the interest of those who are not already present or at least semi interested in the regenerative finance space.

This is where NFTs can excel and bridge the gap.

While traditionally it has been about educating and explaining the dire situation, NFTs offer a slightly different approach.

Most NFT communities are fun, lighthearted, and playful. Easy to engage with because there isn't some impending doom looming over the user/investor.

It instead is about having fun and making the experience a pleasant one so that community members will their spend time there, rather than in some other community.

Due to this approach, NFTs can act as the perfect gateway to the rest of ReFi.

A fun and familiar product, that is easy to understand and are by design community building mechanisms.

All too often I have heard stats quoted about the percent of people who want to do something about climate change and the actual percent who take action.

Somewhere between 60-80% who want to do something and 20-40% who actually take action (depends on who you hear it from)

The point being, that there is a large number that wish to be pro-active but do not seem to know the best way to take action.

While we definitely need improvements on user experience (UI, dApps that feel more like web1, web2)
A straight forward easy to understand and familiar product is a great place to start.

NFTs are such a product, and depending on how you layer in utility and governance, you could have an NFT which allows the holder to determine their own level of involvement.

Whether that be someone just simply looking to offset personal or project emissions.

Perhaps a builder in the space looking to make positive climate impact through investment choices all while seeking an opportunity to find funding through the NFTs governance and treasury access. Helping to shape the future of ReFi through the voting rights the NFT provides.

Or simply someone who wants to make a climate positive impact with their investment decisions and be potentially rewarded through positive returns on said investment.

NFTs have the ability to target those outside of the ReFi space with a lot more ease, as it doesn't require in depth knowledge about the carbon markets, or climate change in general. Just a familiarity with NFTs and a want, to belong to an amazing community.

Because of all these things, I believe ReFi NFT projects make for the perfect gateway to the space for the broader consumer crypto market and beyond.
