Sanwo-Olu Announces Salary Increase For Lagos Workers
The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, announced a salary increase for public servants on the payroll of the state government.
The Chief press secretary to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, revealed this on his Instagram page, as he shared a video of the excitement that followed Sanwo-Olu’s announcement.
Akosile captioned the video, “Lagos State Governor #jidesanwoolu announces salary increase to enthusiastic Lagos State workforce. The salary increment will be determined before end of October.
The HOS #hmokunola_ and Min of Establishment will work out the details.”

Danish Queen Apologises For Stripping Titles Of Grandchildren
The Queen of Denmark, Queen Margrethe II, has issued an apology for stripping four of her grandchildren of their titles of prince and princess from 2023.
The apology which was released on the Danish royal family website on Monday read, "In recent days, there have been strong reactions to my decision about the future use of titles for Prince Joachim's four children. That affects me, of course."

Former United States president, Donald Trump, has sued CNN on Monday, accusing the cable television news network of defamation and seeking $475 million in punitive damages.
Trump, in the lawsuit filed in a US District Court in Florida, accused CNN of waging a campaign of "libel and slander" against him because it "fears" he will run for president again in 2024.
"CNN has sought to use its massive influence -- purportedly as a 'trusted' news source -- to defame the plaintiff in the minds of its viewers and readers for the purpose of defeating him politically," Trump's lawyers said in the 29-page complaint.

Nigerian singer, Bukola Elemide popularly known as Asa, has issued a copyright infringement notice to Joeboy following the release of his song, ‘Contour’.
In a notice signed by her management, Asa demanded from Joeboy the sum of N300 million, a 60 per cent publishing split on the song, a written apology and asked that he immediately remove the song from all digital streaming platforms within 24 hours.
The notice of infringement, which Joeboy shared read in part; ”It has been brought to our attention that your newly released song, Contour (the “Song”), infringes on the copyright of our Client, as recorded/captured in a musical composition (the “Composition”)
Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa, has paid tribute to her sister, Opeyemi, who died a year ago.
Sharing throwback videos of her sister on her Instagram page on Monday, she expressed her grief.
Makinwa said, “Around this time, on this day last year you took your final breath. One year after and I still feel the lump in my throat. They say, 'It is well', but I’m tempted to ask what is? Then they say it gets easier but they lied.

Labour Party chieftain, Professor Pat Utomi, has hailed all supporters of the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi aka 'Obidients' for the rallies held on Saturday.

Photostory: Slain ‘Herdsmen’ From Sudan, Says Birnin-Gwari Union
The Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressive Union on Monday claimed that the individuals who were lynched in the community on Sunday were terrorists from Sudan and not herdsmen as the Kaduna State government has said.
Two men said to be herdsmen were lynched by the youths of Birnin-Gwari, an action which has been condemned by the government as well as the union.
Disputing the government’s claim, the BEPU, Isaq Usman Kasa, said that available records which the union is privy to,
"shows that, the lynched 'herders' were terrorists mercenaries from the Republic of Sudan.”
A foreign identification card on one of the lynched persons indicated that the bearer is affiliated to the Khartoum International Centre for Human Rights.
