Kogi State denies abandoning shares in Dangote Cement; Claims over half a trillion naira lost in earnings, taxes and other revenue over 16 years.
Kogi State insists that Obajana Cement Plc which was later changed to Dangote Cement was founded and wholly owned by the state. The State Assembly believes and insists that Dangote did not acquire or extinguish her shares in Obajana Cement in any manner known to law.
It therefore insists that Dangote Cement must account for her full shareholding as well as her lawful earnings in dividends, issues and operating taxes.
The Kogi State Government also accuses Dangote Cement of not doing much to improve the lot of her host communities or protect them from harmful emissions, dust fog or the chaotic traffic station caused by the hundreds of trucks she processes through the community everyday.

Dangote made a deal with Late Prince Abubakar Audu to divide the shares as 90%-5%-5%
90% for Dangote
5% for Kogi Govt
5% for Kogi citizens willing to invest.
Dangote kept all the 100% of the shares to themselves.
