“Mushroom Kingdom here we come!”

The first look at #TheSuperMarioBrosMovie (and Chris Pratt’s take on the iconic Italian plumber) has just arrived. latimes.com/entertainment-…
The trailer begins with Bowser (voiced by Jack Black) terrorizing a frozen landscape with his fiery attacks. Seeing their home destroyed by the “King of the Koopas,” the residing penguins retaliate with a flurry of snowballs. latimes.com/entertainment-…
Later on, Pratt’s Mario falls out of a recognizable green pipe into the Mushroom Kingdom. Accompanied by Toad, Mario makes his way to the castle and a dramatic rendition of the iconic “Mario” theme plays. latimes.com/entertainment-…
While the first trailer allowed fans to see what the game would look like as an animated movie, it most importantly gave viewers a taste of Pratt’s voice acting skills as Mario.

And he sounds ... like himself.

New: With the Colorado River in crisis and reservoir levels continuing to decline, California water agencies that depend on the river are planning to significantly reduce their use of water from the river starting next year.

latimes.com/california/sto…
As a result, officials with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California said they plan to endorse mandatory conservation measures next year to begin rationing water for cities and local agencies that supply 19 million people across six counties.
latimes.com/california/sto…
Officials said in a letter that they are proposing to reduce water use by up to 400,000 acre-feet per year starting in 2023. That would amount to about 9% of the state’s total water allotment from the river for the next 4 years, through 2026.
