Another important piece of news was about attempts to sway Russian society in the North Caucasus through media and a network of Telegram channels.
The Utro Dagestan [Morning Dagestan] Telegram channel began publishing targeted appeals to students of specific schools in Dagestan to participate in demonstrations.
In addition, the channel appeared to recruit people to block the streets and resist law enforcement. All this was supported by various religious and "legal" arguments.
The authors, referring to the norms of Islam, assured high school students that they were mature adults. They also stressed that schoolchildren "have no right to be beaten or locked up."
