WATCH: Leading Through Transformation: The Elisha Generation featuring Bishop William J. Barber, II and Rev. Kazimir Brown twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
“Without water people perish, without water cities perish, this is a health crisis and it’s not just in Mississippi, it’s in.. California, West Virginia, Oak Flat, Arizona and across this country” Rev. @KazimirBrown , National Director of Religious Affairs for @BRepairers
“An invitation was extended to create a space for a special service tonight, a haven, a kind of revival before the rally.. thank you @Tougaloo_1869” Rev. Dr. Alvin O’Neal Jackson, Executive Director of @UniteThePoor
In 2020 the metropolitan area of Jackson accounted for 29% of Mississippi's total gross domestic product of 104 billion dollars, so almost one-fourth of the economic power is right here!
The American Society of Civil Engineers has awarded the drinking water infrastructure of the United States a “D,“ for 10 years running. So you see the water is sick in Jackson, but it's part of a political sickness that exist all across America.
"Jackson is where selfish, self-centered anti-tax ideology combines with Republican racism to deny a city of 180,000 mostly African-American citizens a system of public water." Steve Cohen, State of The Planet
In Mississippi there ought to be an urgency!.. 52% of all the people.. are poor and/or low-wealth, 1.5 million residents.. 59% of children, 53% of women, 67% of black people 40% of white people..
The forces in Mississippi for 50 years, have done everything to keep the injustice of the state towards the city [of Jackson] and the people, from becoming national and international news. No - this stops now!
The constitution of Mississippi says.. the people of the state have an inherent right.. to alter and abolish that form of government whenever [it] does not make sure that they have safety and happiness. There's nothing safe about dirty drinking water and it sure is not happy!
We can not let what is happening in Jackson become localized. Join us tomorrow as we host a march and rally to "Free the land, clean the water & keep it public!" #OurVotesAreDemands

WATCH: Save the UC Townhomes Interfaith Gathering with Bishop William J. Barber, II twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
It’s time to join in the fight and celebrate those who have already been fighting here to save UC Townhomes. We have to fight because this is wrong, immoral, it’s sin.
We can’t stand down.
We can’t be silent.
Because if they take UC townhomes, it will be the beginning of a dangerous dominoe effect in this city.
