Todays #Cascadia slow slip #tremors have increased to 949. 534 tremors being below Portland #Oregon. All three sections are in motion.

Tremors are not earthquakes but are vibrations of the Pacific plate sliding ( subduction ) under the North American plate. 10/09/2022 ImageImageImageImage
This takes place between 28-45 km deep and thus not detected by humans.

During a slow slip event, magma may be released at the plate interface, and heat may be detected at or near the Cascadia range ( volcanos )

It is the Juan de Fuca plate that is in motion.
The east side Pacific plate is being pushed westerly. Increased heat detections at the central Pacific also suggest upward pressure.

PS. If a YouTuber calls these episodic tremors “earthquakes” they obviously lack knowledge of what slow slip events are.
