π·πΊπΊπ¦π‘ Russian Armed Forces strikes on Ukraine's energy system - Rybar's analysis
On the morning of October 10, Russian Armed Forces began massive missile strikes throughout Ukraine. In addition to the headquarters and control points of the AFU, SBU and National Guard being hit, Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities were subjected to systemic strikes.
Neither nuclear power plants nor hydroelectric power plants were struck - and there is no need for that in the current case. Our map shows all significant substations and TPPs with thermal power plants, as well as 330kV high-voltage lines on the territory of Ukraine.
Some of the objects (as well as lines with 750kV substations) were intentionally omitted - otherwise the map would be extremely overcrowded. We focused on the 330kV lines - they were the first to be hit during the strikes.
π» The Rybar team has now been able to confirm the following strikes:
But no strikes confirmed on the Brovary and Sivirna substations, or Kyiv TPP-6. Either they were not included in the list of objects to be hit, or the Ukrainian air defense systems partially worked.
βͺοΈ Rivne: Rivne 330 kV substation - hitting the facility caused overloading of 110 kV substations and loss of electricity in the city.
βͺοΈ Khmelnytsky: Khmelnytsky 330/110 kV substation - since there is no power in the whole city, only the 330 kV substation could have been hit, which provoked disconnection of the Rakove, Stara, Termoplast, Ozirna, Dubove substations and the Grechany traction substation.
βͺοΈ Ternopil: Ternopil 330/110/35 kV substation - no power in the whole city. It feeds: 110 kV Zahreblya, Ternopil support station, HalytsΚΉka, Promyslova, Plotycha, ZBV.
βͺοΈ Sumy: 330kV Konotop substation - the hit caused power outages in the entire region.
βͺοΈ Kharkiv: in the entire city there is no light, water, communications, and the subway stopped.
This could mean a simultaneous shutdown of substations Zalyutino, Kharkiv, Loseve, as well as Kharkiv TPP-5, Zmiiv TPP, Chuhuiv TPP-2. But due to the lack of communication in the region, it is not yet possible to confirm that all facilities were disabled.
βͺοΈ Kryvyi Rih: Kryvyi Rih TPP, one of the largest in Ukraine.
βͺοΈ Zhytomyr: Zhytomyr 330/110 kV substation
βͺοΈ Lviv: Lviv TPP-1
βͺοΈ Ivano-Frankivsk: Burshtyn TPP
βͺοΈ Vinnytsia: delayed trains reported, which may be an indication of the failure of individual traction substations. But there is no data about this in open sources.
π» The strikes caused shock among the Ukrainian population. The outage of certain key structures of the Ukrainian power grid caused an overload of the entire power system: the nuclear power plants could not cope with the load.
Those who gave the order for a massive fire attack should consider that all of this damage can still be repaired. If the purpose of the strike was to cause a short-term shock - well, it worked.
But if the goal is to overload the power system of Ukraine for a prolonged panic among the population, to lower the AFU's morale and psychological state and win on the battlefield, then such actions would need to be repeated.
βοΈ It is necessary to break the 750kV switchgear at nuclear power plants, responding with symmetrically to what was done against Zaporizhia NPP. Particular attention should be paid to Khmelnytsky NPP - it has a direct power line to Poland.

βοΈπ·πΊπΊπ¦ Battle of Kherson: Situation on the Andriivka and Beryslav sectors
As of 14:00 Kyiv Time, October 12, 2022
π» On the Andriivka sector, units of the AFU 35th Marines Brigade attempted an unsuccessful assault of the Kostromka-Ischinka line. Russian Armed Forces repulsed the attack, destroying 10 vehicles, including 2 tanks and 3 APCs.
At the same time, in the 35th AFU brigade yesterday, several dozen men of the 137th battalion refused to advance on Bruskinske. And on Oct 5, 66 men of the 88th battalion left Bilohirka on their own. The main reason for disobeying orders was the sending of people for slaughter.
βοΈπ·πΊπΊπ¦ Situation in the Starobilsk direction
As of 15:00 October 11, 2022
π» On the Kupiansk sector, AFU are attacking Russian positions near Olshana, where the AFU 14th Mechanized Brigade was able to fortify itself on the outskirts of the settlement.
At the same time, the 1st Battalion of the AFU 14th Brigade attacked the line Pershotravneve-Orlianske, with the aim of wedging into Russian defensive lines and moving to Olshana from the flank.
π·πΊπ΄πΊπ¦ On the possible arrival of Rustam Azhiev, leader of Chechen fighters, in Ukraine (part 3):
Chechen fighters have been in the service of Ukraine from almost the very beginning of the special military operation.
However, their service is mostly propagandistic in nature. So far, there have been only isolated cases of participation of Ichkerian gangs in actual combat operations.
Therefore, the probable appearance of the leader of Ajnad al-Kavkaz, together with fifty fighters, will not affect the operational situation in any way.
π·πΊπ΄πΊπ¦ On the possible arrival of Rustam Azhiev, leader of Chechen fighters, in Ukraine (part 2)
But suppose it did happen.
Who is Abdul Hakim al-Shishani?
Abdul Hakim al-Shishani (call sign Khamzat) fought on the side of Chechen fighters from 2000-09, including in Rustam Basayev's gang.
In 2009, he was wounded (a grenade explosion tore off three fingers and damaged his eye) and left for Turkey for medical treatment.
He was no longer able to return to Chechnya, so together with another Chechen terrorist, Hamza Shishani, he decided to continue his "liberation jihad" in the Syrian Arab Republic, where the conflict was just beginning to escalate.
π·πΊπ΄πΊπ¦ On the possible arrival of Rustam Azhiev, leader of Chechen fighters, in Ukraine (part 1)
The Chechen fighter Rustam Azhiyev, better known as Abdul Hakim al-Shishani, arrived in Ukraine to participate in combat operations on the side of the AFU.
At least, that the claim by a propaganda Telegram channel of the Ichkerians, who side with the Kyiv regime.
Some sources had earlier promised that Abdul Hakim would "arrive" in March, but apparently some force majeure circumstances prevented the militant from leaving warm Turkey, where he had recently been living, for cold Ukraine.
A resident of the Ukrainian capital posted on Twitter about shrapnel of the obsolete 9H314 warhead from the 9M38 anti-aircraft guided missile, used by the AFU's 9K37 Buk. They were found near the Samsung office in Kyiv, near where a missile exploded on October 10.
Shrapnel of the 9H314 missile has the characteristic shape of a parallelepiped, and an analogous size. Thus, it is safe to say that it was a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile from the Buk SAM system that hit near the Samsung office in Kyiv, due to operator error or malfunction.
This is not the first time Ukrainian Buks have struck civilian infrastructure. On February 26, a Buk 9M38 missile also hit a high-rise building in Zhulyany, and then Klitschko himself "boasted" about its shrapnel.
