The last few days in LA dealt one of the biggest blows to Black Brown solidarity in 25+ years of organizing.

The grotesque lack of humanity, the perverse use of "power," and the greedy individualism on display emulates white supremacy.

Latino leaders claiming to represent Latinos--- really only representing themselves and their own power-- at the expense of our Black family-- all while expressing their twisted anti-indigenous, anti-LGBTQI worldviews-- with the most cynical cackling throughout.

They got power wrong-- b/c the power that leads to transformative humanistic change-- change rooted in anti-racism + anti-oppression doesn't live in the hands of elected officials-- EO's are merely an instrument.
True power always lives in the people. Always has, always will.

The hypocrisy is sickening. To be high and mighty and so righteously condemn MRT before any decision. To bully the passage of so many criminalizing policies like 41.18. To tell protesters they lack decorum. And to behave infinitely worse in private is the newest lows of lows.

To be head of the labor movement in LA, and represent all workers--- but participate in a back door deal to aggrandize the careers of 3 at the expense of Black erasure and Black voter suppression--- new low in LA's labor movement.

To make sure a city council seat is ANTI-CoCo --- Is to make sure a seat is anti- Black-Brown solidarity. Anti-Black. Anti-justice. Anti-freedom. Anti-worker. Anti-people. Anti-Progress.

For all that we have stood for for 30+ years. It is an attack on all of us.

To attack a child with such visceral, grotesque anti-Black, white supremacist, language- to laugh--- to collude....

as a parent...let me stop, and say

all four of them would demand more than resignation if it happened to any of their children, family.

The resignations we are all demanding is only a first part of accountability. There must be investigation, to reveal what other kind of accountability must take place.

But resignation is merely step one.

This is not a DEI exercise. This is not about training and brands and slogans. This must be about transformation.

This is about structural investments into Black communities.

This is about revisiting and redoing the faulty anti-Black, anti-Brown, anti-Black-Brown maps that were approved in December.

This is about Make LA Whole--- and real investments we have been calling for.....

This is about PUSH LA-- and finally bringing an end to traffic stops by armed police

this is getting behind housing and houseless organizers-- and moving away from 41.18 and towards real solutions

this is about moving assets back into Black and Brown communities

This is about reimagining the Office of Racial Equity to have resources and do what it is supposed to do.

This is about ELECTING KAREN BASS as Mayor! Someone who understands uniting not just Black and Brown -- but all of LA and our people behind a vision that is more than about individual agenda but a peoples agenda.

We need a united front more than ever. The movement must consolidate now. We have our roles. Different lanes. But a common vision. No more attacking each other. We must unite. The door is wide open for us to push for progress.
