1/14 “Hey #PhalaWorld Team, you’ve been really quiet recently, what's happening?”

So we’ve heard that question quite a bit recently. Not always said quite like that… But still 😅

Here’s a thread on what we’ve been doing 🧵 👇

2/14 Our last major release was the Spirit NFT feature on June 21

The Spirit NFT (for those who aren’t in the know, where have you been?🙃) is a ‘Soulbound’ 2.0 NFT which is yours forever and represents your strength, intelligence, and dexterity

3/14 We’ve since seen thousands of players mint their Spirit NFT and connect their on and off-chain presence to infuse it with life

4/14 The next part of a fully ‘playable’ character is the Shell NFT. If your Spirit represents who you are and what you do, then your Shell represents how you look (your swag!😎)

5/14 The team had a lot of creative ideas around how to build this system. The overriding feeling from most members was that we needed diversity, for people to express themselves. That meant a LOT of equipable slots and a LOT of items.

6/14 The team began by building a Shell system that would produce randomly generated Shell NFTs. It felt like a way to strive for maximum diversity. But in the end, we felt it wasn’t good enough. There were some, emmm.. interesting combinations! 🤣

7/14 We also realized the players (Survivors!) needed much more control.
🎮 Back to the drawing board we went exploring new ideas🔍

8/14 So the team decided to build a system where you could fully customize your character. Four species, five career professions, and THOUSANDS of items.

9/14 You know how you can invest/waste hours deciding on the look of your character in any RPG game…

10/14 Alongside that control, the team also wanted a fun interactive social game mechanic to allow players to earn points to unlock those items your Shell NFT could equip.

11/14 “Hey, #PhalaWorld Team this sounds really ambitious?”
Erm. Yes. Guilty.

12/14 So that’s where we have been! We didn’t mean to be so quiet, but you know, when you really start focusing on something... You know how it is 😅🤫

13/14 The team is super excited to get this release out into the public’s hands. And we are well on the way toward that goal. Not long now🤞

14/14 We really hope it will be worth the wait. We see the excitement from PhalaWorld fans and we feel it too. Watch this space closely 👀
