The Herd take a quick 2-0 lead here early on after a double stuff by the Herd’s Essence Clerkley, and Lydia Montague.
Georgia Southern is on 5 point run. It is now 5-3 Georgia Southern. That 5th straight point came by a kill from Baylor Bumford.
A HUGE BLOCK by Baylor Bumford, and Christy Jordan for the Eagles. That would make it 7-5 Eagles.
Another beautiful double block by the Thundering Herd. Block by Tinkle, and McElhaaney. Score is knotted up at 9 aa piece.
A smoked ball that led to aa kill by Georgia Southern’s Emily Jarome. The Eagles now push the lead to 4. 15 -11 Georgia Southern.
A quick timeout by the Thundering Herd. Gives me a chance to talk about the very nice breast cancer awareness jerseys Marshall is sporting. All white jerseys with tow black strips on the sleeves. The numbering, and lettering are in pink.
A beautiful kill by Brown for the Thundering Herd. The score is now 13-17 Georgia Southern. Marshall trying to close that gap.
Lydia Montague with a kill for Marshall. Gets the service back, and a point for the Herd. The score is now 19-15 Georgia Southern.
Georgia Southern really starting to take momentum here late in the first set as the Eagles are on a 3-0 run currently. Pushes the score to 23-16 in the Eagles favor. Marshall takes a timeout. #MUvsGASouthern
Ball lands out of bounce, gives Marshall a much needed point. It is now 17-23 Marshall still trailing.
Just like that the Thundering Herd goes on its own run out of the timeout. Make that 4 straight points. It now makes it 20-23 Marshall clawing its way back into it. Georgia Southern will also call a timeout. #MUvsGASouthern
A service error on Marshall’s Macy McElhaney will give the Eagles that last point needed to win set one. The Eagles hold on to win by a score of 25-21. Set number 2 will be underway soon here at The Cam Henderson Center.
2nd set is underway now! Marshall starts this set fast once again as its on a 2-0 run.
Georgia Southern quickly ties the match back up at 2 a piece here at The Cam.
The Eagles are swinging momentum its way early on taking a lead 4- 3 on a kill by Emily Jarome.
Megan Taylor on a beautiful block to give the Thundering Herd 6-5 lead.
Marshall’s Brown finds an opening in the back left corner. It was a beautiful spot, and kill. That kill makes it 7-8.

Georgia Southern’s Powers finds herself in the net, and gives Marshall a two point cushion. Marshall is up 12-10
Georgia Southern retakes the lead on a kill by Jerome. It is now currently 13-12 Georgia Southern. #MUvsGASouthern
After a hit out by the Thundering Herd, it now puts Georgia Southern on a 5-0 run. This is the Eagles second time finding itself holding the lead at the media timeout. It is 15-12 Georgia Southern. #MUvsGASouthern
A big service error by Georgia Southern’s Rebekah Farthing. Makes it 16-13 Eagles.
Since the service error Georgia Southern got the service back, and on a 5-0 run. It is 21-13 Georgia Southern.
Just as a I say that, Marshall ends that 5-0 scoring by way of a block. The score is now 21-14, the Eagles are still ahead.
Jerome puts the cherry on top for the Eagles. Ends set 2 on a nice kill, and 4-0 run. The 2nd set ends 25-15 Georgia Southern. The Eagles are one set away from sweeping the Thundering Herd. Set 3 will be on its way momentarily. #MUvsGASouthern

Things slowly starting to fall apart for the Thundering Herd. Georgia Southern just keeps piling it on here in the 3rd set. The Eagles are on a HUGE 7-0 run. 10-4 Eagles. Marshall will take a timeout. #MUvsGASouthern
Georgia Southern challenges the call on the court. It is not successful. Tinkle’s kill for Marshall ends a 7-0 run. The score is now 11-5 Georgia Southern still ahead.
Marshall is going on its own run here. It is on a 5-0 run currently making it 11-10 still in Georgia Southern’s favor.
A HUGEEEEEE block by Marshall’s McElhaney. Then quickly right after Marshall’s Montague with a beautiful kill to now push the run to 7 straight points. It is now 12-11 Marshall.
The momentum and energy switches over to the Herd. Another big block by Montague being her 5th. 8-0 run for the Herd. 13-11 Marshall. #MUvsGASouthern

Marshall lost two straight challenges, and also seem to lose the dance battle during he challenge. A rough series events for Marshall.
