Oliver Semmle with two great stops after Marshall turns it over. Corner for ODU.

Goal ODU. They convert the corner and strike first to make it 1-0 15 minutes in.

20th minute: Marshall with another great look, but it is saved.

Matthew Bell with aa great chance from close, but offsides is called.

22nd minute Yellow card to ODU and one to Taimu Okiyoshi of Marshall.

Player down for ODU stoppage in play. He is up and walking off under his own power.

28th minute: Duggan with aa great header that is saved by ODU. Gabriel Alves then nearly misses. #MUvsODU

Yosef with a hard that is stopped by ODU, but Marshall keeps pressuring, earning a corner after a couple of blocked shots.

36th minute: Marshall unhappy with ruling after ODU is awarded a free kick. Fans voicing their displeasure as well.

38th minute: Another yellow card to ODU. Their second of the game.

Joao Souza nearly sneaks one in, but it goes over the bar.

Matthew Bell with another great look with just over aa minute left in the first half, but it goes wide.

Halftime: Bell again gets in close but can’t convert as ODU remains ahead 1-0.

Marshall haas outshot the Monarchs 14-5 with 3-2 advantage for shots on goal, but Michael Statham keeps the Herd scoreless. Lot of fouls though, 7 for ODU, 4 for Marshall. ODU had only one corner in which they scored off of, while Marshall had 6.

ODU kicks off and the 2nd half is underway.

Not a whole lot of action in the first 5 minutes of this half.

53rd minute: Marshall continues to pressure but is called for offsides.

Aoumaich is denied from close range after receiving a nice cross from Bell.

55th minute: ODU receives a yellow. Marshall can’t do anything with the free kick.

63rd minute: Marshall tries to cross it, but it is stopped by Statham.
ODU then earns their second corner of the game.

Goal ODU. Another header from a corner makes it 2-0 Monarchs.

65th minute: Yosef is unable to convert a free kick after the fans pleaded for a penalty but don’t get their wish.

70th minute: Marshall earns their 10th corner and draws a foul. Nothing doing. Still 2-0. #MUvsODU

GOAL Marshall: Gabriel Alves strikes from distance for his first goal of the season with 17 mins to go. The crowd is alive again. #MUvsODU

77th minute: Marshall earns another corner and nearly strikes again as Statham deflects it out for another corner.

ODU nearly gets one back as Semmle deflects it out for a corner. ODU’s third of the contest.

83rd minute: ODU gets a goal kick that the crowd does not agree with. Marshall still looking for the equalizer.

Yosef tries to cross it in but it was out before he could. 3 minutes left. #MUvsODU

Final: Old Dominion defeats Marshall 2-1 as the Herd were unable to take advantage of aa late corner. Marshall outshot ODU 25-8 and had 19 corners to ODU’s 3, but can’t come away with the result they wanted.
