So now thay everyone is so outraged about "desecration" of spectacular art.
Here are some striking images not created by #Picasso or #VanGogh but that have been shaped by nature.
Exhibit A: Coral reefs being wiped out by climate change. Which vandal is responsible for that?
Exhibit B: Ice from Greenland to Himalayas turning black because of the effect of climate change. Is tomato soup on the glass in front of a Van Gogh worse?
Exhibit C: This hellish landscape was once a lush green forest, at par with any work of art & probably an inspiration for some too.
Exhibit D: Spectacular beach, like the one you'd like on your Instagram more than a Mona Lisa right? This is in Fiji, more like these in Maldives & beyond are going to vanish with lives of people who don't contribute a fraction to climate change.
So those protesting using #Picasso & #VanGogh have probably been arrested or detained.
Who'll be charged for ruining the work of art that was created way before that & evolved over centuries?
Art is supposed to open minds, not confine them to petty snobbery.

Indians give disproportionate importance to engineering, medicine & UPSC while looking down on humanities, literature & art, then wonder why there isn't innovation & attention to detail at par with west or South East Asia.
Let's start with robotics & AI, the word Robot wasn't
coined by a techie, it first appeared in a 1920 play about a mechanical person who falls in love with a human, that set the ball rolling for future generations to explore the possibilities.
The metaverse was first explored in a 1935 sci-fi novel Pygmalion's Spectacles where a
device opened doors to a fictional universe with sense of smell, taste & vision. The word also first appeared in a 1982 novel used for an alternate world where people escaped their dystopian reality, which seems more accurate.
rising sea levels have reclaimed the land once reclaimed from the sea to reduce Mumbai to a swamp it once was,
remaining residents see men in neat corporate attire sitting in dilapidated offices going on about spirit of Mumbai,
their corporate slavemasters
are tweeting about it & it's amplified by hundreds of bots which are exclusive perks they got from Musk for free with their super-expensive plots on Mars & tickets for a space flight.
In Surat people living in temporary shelters on numerous flyovers in the flooded city are
complaining about Dumas beach consumed by the sea, because they don't have a spot to have chai & bhajiya during monsoon, while praising Modiji's foresight to build flyovers that seemed excessive once but were meant to be higher ground after the sea entered cities,
Yesterday 16kg heroin was caught at Mumbai airport, before that 345kg at Nava Sheva port, before that 75kg in Mundra, all this in months after 3000kg at Adani's port in Mundra.
Multiple MD factories have been busted in Gujarat, drones are dropping heroin across the Indo-Pak
border & drug abuse in Kashmir went up by 1500% in three years while no one from government to opposition blinked.
The only man Mullah Omar allowed to sell drugs for revenue, drug-lord turned Taliban top brass Bashir Noorzai has been released by US in a swap for a hostage,
Iran is unstable, & Afghan opium flows out of many of its ports,
In Gujarat or Mumbai, the drug abuse problem is big in minority areas which I can tell from personal experience, as strongmen in these ghettos are pushing drugs into the veins of their own "community",
Chola dynasty ended in 13th century, Mughals came in 16th.
So they never fought a war, but @ShivAroor with his impeccable record for facts is running Cholas vs Mughal narrative on India Today to promote a film.
Not that I take pride in a history of conquests, casteism & grand
structures, culture created by the privileged Savarnas & then Ashrafs with Brahmins in courts & Rajputs leading armies at the cost & labour of the oppressed castes or converts who were cannon fodder for Rajput-led armies.
But what is our history? And if some of it isn't ours,
whose is it? Who is that other that is being marked out with the Mughals?
For instance, did my ancestors come to India with Mughals or central Asians or Afghans or Turks?

The arrests were in Feb 15 2002, 12 days before innocent passengers were burned in Godhra.
The name underlined is from a wealthy business family in Surat, was convicted but was out in 6-7 years.
On release he went into business with Parsoli motors of Zafar Sareshwala who by
then had flipped in favour of Modi, being one of his major Muslim cheerleaders.
A terrorism convict, gets to run a BMW showroom courtesy of a BJP lobbyist.
Picture that at a time when the Udaipur terrorists are seen with BJP Muslim morcha members.
Now the theory is that the
Gujarat riots were triggered as a reaction to the Godhra attack.
But truth is right after losses in panchayat & local body polls to Congress, Sangh activities & appearance of random pracharaks had increased in villages around worst affected parts such as Mehsana.
