Hoshi and Joji are characters in The Thinking Machine Part 2. The twins attend Kira's classes on how to build a thinking machine and decide to intern with her. These are their adventures.

Kira finds the twins working in the basement. She is so happy they decided to intern with her. They are really enthusiastic and bright. Their help has been invaluable the last couple of weeks. They even found time to work on their own project. Kira wondered what it was.
It had taken her some time to get used to Hoshi and Joji. Kira hadn't met twins before. Hoshi seemed so worldly already. So, Kira preferred to talk with Joji. He seemed shy like her. In the little time he'd been here, he had already found new programming for the Kirisu-device.
When her brother Kazimir named their company Kirisu & Co, Kira was overwhelmed. She had given The Thinking Machine its name. Kirisu Mikase was her hero; an engineer who saved the survivors in the vaults from suffocating. And now again, Kirisu would help the empire find peace.
This time, as Kira approaches the twins, Joji blushea and quickly looks down. She sympathizes; she had often felt like that as well. What Kira doesn't understand is why Hoshi thinks it's amusing. That isn't very nice of her. Maybe Kira should talk to her about it?
"What project are you working on, Joji?" Kira thinks it's nice to start with Joji, especially since Hoshi starts to smirk.
"Uhmm, well... We... Well, it's like this... Uhmm... We are trying to..." Joji can't find the words. He is worried about what Kira will think about.

Hoshi decides to help her brother out now. "We are trying to make the Kirisu-device write a story."
This answer surprises and amazes Kira. No one had ever thought her machine could do that. She immediately wants to know how they want to achieve it and what the story is about?

Joji nods. He finally finds his words again. "Very early stage. We're trying to design a story structure that Kirisu can work with."
He says 'Kirisu' because he knows Kira calls it that as well. Then he starts rattling off how he thinks they could get it to implement it.

Hoshi pats him on the arm: "Thank you, Joji, but I'm sure Kira has more to do today." She feels a little bit sorry when she sees him look down again.
"This is wonderful!" Kira almost claps her hands in excitement.

'How to become empress?' is all Kira hears. Her eyes are wide open now. For some reason, this all sounds like a very bad idea.
Joji cringes when he sees Kira turn pale, her mouth open in shock. He knew they shouldn't have decided to work on this story. It was Hoshi who did it!
