Howdy y’all. I live in N.C. House District-73. I want to talk about this race because my mailbox has been defiled for weeks by this Brian Echevarria dude running against Diamond Staton-Williams. He’s making her out to be an unemployed hobo. So I did some fact-checking. YIKES.

Don’t worry, I checked into her, too. I don’t trust politicians much these days. Apparently she was late with some library books back in third grade. This Echevarria dude? From Miami, Florida? His record is…sketch. I work with data and pulled some records.

First, if Diamond Staton-Williams is a shifty tax deadbeat, what’s he? You check out his campaign site and he’s now a financial advisor who had a tiny bankruptcy.
Like a small, appetizer size, not like one of those giant nacho plate bankruptcies with sour cream and guac.

Remember, this guy is making these nasty accusations of another candidate being guilty of tax evasion. So how does he describe his Federal bankruptcy?
Well, they just couldn’t find families to adopt their properties!
What are they, puppies?

OK, so I work with finance at my job, and that sounded fishy. Not the concealed carry classes for Jesus part, though that’s really weird. The innocent, “we couldn’t find families to adopt our debts” bankruptcy.
So I pulled the public records...and what nerve this guy has!

Also, I want to say before I get started that politics has fallen in the toilet when we have people telling complete lies about their opponents and we have go looking for the truth this hard. I don’t mean partial lies, because that’s all politicians. But total falsehoods. Grr!

And another thing. Bankruptcy itself isn’t a bad thing - it's a Christian concept, to boot! Usury isn’t permitted in the Bible, because you own a person’s future. Deuteronomy 23:19! Ezekiel 22:12!

Now why did Brian Echevarria throw himself at the Federal court to be relieved of his debts in North Carolina? Because he moved here from Miami to take advantage of that housing bubble that got millions thrown out on the street. And he wanted to live high off the hog.

Yeah, this humble servant came up from Miami and immediately ran up a $1.6 million tab in North Carolina - and then, just as everyone lost their jobs, he wanted the public to pick up the tab. Y’all ever ask your neighbors to forgive $1.6 million in debt? Mine probably wouldn’t.

How did Brian Echevarria get in so much debt so quickly after moving here? He bought homes in some fancy parts of town just as the market crashed. So when he says they couldn’t find families to adopt his properties, he means he’s a gambler who made a bad bet.

And was this his successful business?
Because Echevarria bought those properties all with other peoples’ money - and then skipped town.
Drive over and take a look at those giant homes. I don’t live in anything that nice, do you?

Who loaned this guy all that money?
By the end of this, you’ll really be wondering.

Echevarria also still owed money for his housing in Florida!
Isn't that all done by the time you move to a new state?
I wonder if he didn't high-tail it out of Florida too.
Check the second mortgages, too. This guy is not very good with money.

So now we get to some of Echevarria's tax deliquency. Remember, he's sending all these nasty postcards to our mailboxes about other people's (supposed) tax bills.
Well, he was in the hole $20,000+ to two different states.

Echevarria owed both Florida and North Carolina taxes when he begged the courts to protect him from his business decisions.

Now, what kind of income did Echevarria make to get himself in $1.6 million of debt including back taxes?

Can anyone explain how Brian Echevarria was able to lever up $1.6 million in debt while making less than minimum wage?
That is a very cool life hack - maybe that's what Brian's financial consulting business shows people.

It gets worse. Because not only was Brian Echevarria able to get people to loan him over a million dollars while making minimum wage, his lifestyle seems impossible at that level of free cash.
Like, nothing makes sense here. And it may make you angry.

Echevarria, while making minimum wage and somehow borrowing $1.6 million, was driving a $45,000 2009 Infiniti M35.
Like, how do you even make the payments on that?
Does he teach that as a financial consultant?

The luxury car wasn't enough for Echevarria. He needed to get tinted windows. And screw the local auto customizing shop out of $600.
Also, who goes into $2000+ of debt for rental cars?

Wait, are those golf course fees in Georgia? A third state where he was in debt? What's that about?

And...Victoria's Secret??? Did he pay off the bra and panties bill ahead of his taxes?

Who needs a line of credit for ladies' underwear?

Y'all, I'm gonna stop at golf, tinted windows, and lingerie.
This Brian Echevarria. Bless his heart.
He needs to stop talking about other people's tax bills in my mailbox.
