Special coverage @themojostory- #BilkisBano Rape convict Mithilesh ( released early with 10 others for “good behaviour” ) was charged with outraging modesty of a woman while out on parole in 2020.
Sidebar: it’s satisfying to sometimes break a story ahead of the brilliant @LiveLawIndia which we would all be lost without otherwise
Exclusive @themojostory - We broke how #Bilkis rapist Mithesh was charged with outraging modesty of a woman on parole. Now we show how a 2nd convict,Radheshyam, whose petition in SC led to remission, was also charged with same offence & criminal intimidation. “Good Behaviour”?!
In Gujarat affidavit Dahod SP says of convict Radheshyam that “he may disrupt the peace” so he should not be released but his review is in early 2020. Here’s the new FIR that charges 2 #Bilkis convicts with 4 offences including outraging modesty & criminal intimidation on parole
Exclusive @themojostory - not one, but TWO rape convicts, including the main petitioner Radheshyam who asked for early release, charged with violating the modesty of a woman, criminal intimidation & breach of peace, while on parole, in 2020. Even SP, Dahod opposed his release.

No matter which state I travel to, no matter on what national highway, no matter which week of the lockdown, I see scenes like this. Of despair. These are migrant workers from Bihar who were walking near Beawar when they suddenly saw a truck. They ran after it desperate.
They are cement factory workers from Bihar who have been unable to get any concrete news on a train home. Here they sit, rest a few moments and share a kharbooza..
The most searing and sad image I see is this one, the cement workers from Bihar folding their hands and pleading with a truck driver to give them a ride. He refuses, correctly citing the police rules on social distancing

Allusions to a Pakistan-China nexus factor among high level officials in Jammu and Kashmir to explain what is happening. With advisories in place well beyond typical areas of internal turmoil (kargil for eg), our focus was internal (35A), the theatre could well be external
So while we assumed the additional troops are for possible turmoil that could follow Article 35A changes, the moment GOI advisory in a place like Kargil, it tells you to look at border/LoC etc and possibly understand the deployment in that framework of army & CRPF reassignment
Suddenly Trump offer of so called mediation, the near US peace deal in Afghanistan, All of it, cannot be divorced from whatever is unfolding in Jammu and Kashmir, where more and more, I believe the internal issues are absolute red herrings. The story& faultline appears external.

Watching how poorly @TwitterIndia has handled its meeting with a group of women journalists & more so, because it has been so dishonest about it, I am taking the unusual step of sharing some details about what happened from my perspective, at the meeting w/ @jack @vijaya
We were invited to share our experience of abuse & trolling on @TwitterIndia & given few minutes each to make our points. I focused mine on organized bullying, rape threats etc. A Dalit activist spoke of how Caste Slurs were not part of Twitter's Report Abuse parameters
When the Dalit activist pointed out that Caste was to India what Race is to America & asked why Twitter did not see caste slurs as abuse @vijaya broke into tears and apologized to this invitee. We were all a bit taken aback but reassured that Twitter was sincere
