1⃣In put in place a review of #Ariane6 programme earlier this year which led to proposed key milestones to be achieved by the end of last month, with the objective of gaining confidence on an inaugural flight.
2⃣We have achieved those milestones, such as the start of the Upper Stage Hot-Firing tests in Lampoldshausen Germany and the full stacking of the #Ariane6 model that will be used for Combined Tests at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.
3⃣This said, the inaugural flight is now planned for Q4 2023. With a project of this magnitude, let me be clear that this is a *planned* date and that the programme will still need to achieve a number of milestones for this schedule to remain valid.
The importance of European access to space via #VegaC and #Ariane6 cannot be underestimated. ESA and its partners must do and are doing everything possible to fly A6 soon and to secure European independent and autonomous access to space, for the benefit of our citizens.
