If you think Atul Subhash’s story is one off or rare, you are mistaken. It is not a one symptom of one sided affair either. Every single day, I see cases where the idea of justice has been lost and people are fighting for the ashes of whatever remains. Let me give you a few examples.
Someone I know took 80 Lakhs loan to buy a home in Lucknow in 2012. First one to buy a home in family. Ended up paying 1.43 Crore to bank for a flat that he hasn’t seen till date. RERA has failed him for last six years. The builder continues to launch new projects daily. High Court asks him to go back to RERA. RERA passes such laughable and unexecutable orders that even the builder would be ashamed.
Another person bought a property from a bank at an auction in 2015. Bank stated in public auction notice that it has the possession of the property. Bank took the money but till date has not given the possession to this buyer. Guess what, bank doesn’t have the property. They never took the possession. They are in cahoots with the defaulter who continues to enjoy the property. DRAT gives an ex parte baseless non-speaking stay order.
Never seen a court this desperate and angry to ensure that a terror accused is granted house arrest in a public library owned by Communist Party of India based on a medical report prepared by brother-in-law of the accused. Every single shred of bonafide has been ignored.
Pro tip: Have a doctor brother-in-law before you support Naxalism and participate in activities leading to massacre of forces.
The confrontation is going to become more evident as the days pass. And rightly so.
The problem is not with the policy. The problem is with Government's casual approach to lawmaking. There was no whisper of this scheme and those who have been preparing and waiting for two years for army recruitment feel cheated at the prospect of a 2 years job.
First of all, Covid was a lousy excuse to have suspended the recruitment. You had elections with political rallies of 5L people. Road shows without masks. UP recruited nearly 1L police personnel during this time. So, this pause on recruitment was unfair.
Secondly, as brilliant the scheme is, the government needed to either be ready with the recruitment notification directly or a much better informative approach to this. Easiest would have been army officers on news channels (Hindi and regional) explaining the merits.
