For those asking from around the world how Britain has gotten into this mess:
- The Conservative Party has always been obsessed with Europe
- This caused divides making the party hard to manage
- Back in 2015 then Prime Minister David Cameron had an idea
- He promised a referendum on the UK’s membership of the EU if he won the election
- He won the election
- The referendum was held; 52% of people voted to leave the EU
- David Cameron resigned
- Theresa May became Prime Minister saying that “Brexit means Brexit”
- It turned out that nobody actually knew what Brexit meant
- She called an election and lost the majority
- She couldn’t get the Conservative party to agree on a Brexit deal so she quit
- Boris Johnson became Prime Minister promising to “Get Brexit done”
- He called a general election and won a majority
- The UK left the European Union in January 2020
- Major Brexit issues remain unresolved and it has negatively impacted the UK economy
- Boris Johnson was forced to resign in disgrace in July 2022 following a series of scandals
- Liz Truss was selected to replace Boris Johnson by members of the Conservative Party
- She announced a raft of unfunded tax cuts to “grow the economy”
- The economy collapsed
- She sacked her chancellor
- She resigned
Fin.
Update:
- Conservative MPs have now picked Rishi Sunak, who lost the leadership election a couple of months ago
- They’re promising to unite behind him, despite not wanting him a leader
- They won’t.

“You just want to hate all black women because she’s there” - nobody should have trouble describing this sentence as overtly racist and condemning whoever uttered it.
You might be surprised therefore to hear what government minister Mel Stride said when he was asked about it this morning:
Stride doesn't think that sentence, which is clearly about race, is about race. You might ask yourself if he's gone mad? Close, he's delivering a line given to him by the Conservative Party
Today Suella Braverman said: “Illegal migration is an existential challenge for political and cultural institutions of the West. Multiculturalism makes no demands of the incomer to integrate. It has failed. It has allowed people to come to our society and live parallel lives”
Putting aside that she gave the speech in the United States of America, which has quite a bit of immigration and still managed to become a world political and cultural superpower, let’s consider what she means by asserting that immigrants are a threat to British culture
What’s the most culturally British thing you can think of? How about a meal of fish and chips, a pint of beer and attending the last night of the proms?
This party took place at the Conservative’s offices in London on 14 December 2020. It was attended by at least 24 people.
On the same day Conservative Health Secretary Matt Hancock gave a press conference and told the UK public:
“To control this deadly disease, we all have a role to play. Everyone should minimise their social contact, because that’s how we can control the spread of this disease.”
He added: “Turning to London and south and west Essex, and south Hertfordshire – in these areas we have seen sharp exponential rises in the past week”
