Some temporary relief but it’s not yet over…

Millie & Catrina @johnhiltons have both been great & really helpful.
#JacksonProperties so far, have not! A contractor arrived this morning to assess the damage. He can’t do anything until Monday & with a load more rain forecast - tomorrow, Monday & Tuesday…

…there’s still no certainty as to when the necessary repair work will be carried out.
Reminder… this leak was first reported to #Jacksons#Properties 30 (!!!) days ago.
Despite all the calls, messages and a very distressed text from an anxious student, clearly telling him she felt unsafe & frightened, Richard hasn’t bothered to respond…
I messaged as requested… and an automated reply came back asking me to call…

So I called & spoke to a lady in lettings who found the address but no record of a leaky ceiling?!!!! I said that was odd since Jake had been dealing with it…
Shortly thereafter, received a call from Jake followed by this message on FB.
This is just appalling, aren’t things tough enough for our young people?!! A friend’s 19 year old daughter, a Uni student @BIMM_Institute in #Brighton, reported a leak to her lettings agency @johnhiltons on 23/09/22. Water has been coming through the ceiling in her bedroom… 1/3 twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
…& onto her bed. She has been v patient but almost a month has gone by & STILL no attempts have been made to fix the leak - it’s just grown bigger & is now dripping through the light fitting! She can’t sleep & the stress is affecting her MH & well-being.
With more wet weather on the way, she is understandably concerned about further water damage to her possessions not to mention her H&S. @johnhiltons you are taking her rent & have a duty to ensure the #StudentAccommodation you provide is safe & fit for purpose. It is not!
