The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has sold more than 40 million copies.

But you haven't read it?
(Don't worry)

Here are the key lessons you should apply: Image
Habit #1 — BE PROACTIVE

It all starts with action.

Rather than being "reactive" (externally influenced).
Focus on being "proactive" (initiative-taking).

This puts you in firm control of your life. Image
Habit #2 — BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND

"No wind is favorable if one does not know to which port one is sailing."

I use this goal-setting system to stay on track myself:

Who do I want to be --> Monthly goal to achieve it? --> Daily action to reach that goal?

I update weekly. Image
Habit #3 — FIRST THINGS FIRST

Knowing the work that moves the needle is half the battle.

The Eisenhower Matrix can come in handy here:

Urgent + Important - Do it
Important + Not urgent - Schedule it
Urgent + Not important - Delegate it
Not urgent + Not important - Delete it Image
Habit #4 — THINK WIN-WIN

Always strive to find a mutually beneficial solution.

How to:
- Be as objective as possible
- Try to see from their perspective
- Determine what a "win" truly means for both parties
- Work to find the best solution for both parties Image
Habit #5 — SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD

Most underrated skill: Listening

Everyone loves a great listener.

I suggest reading the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" or read my thread on it: Image
Habit #6 — SYNERGIZE

Leverage.

One of the fastest ways to get it is by combining forces with someone who compliments your skill set.

This can also be done by tapping into your own unique combination of skills and experience that can't be replicated by anyone else. Image
Habit #7 — SHARPEN THE SAW

Stay sharp.

- Physically
- Mentally
- Spiritually
- Socially

The most successful people in the world are playing the long game.

Keep your body and mind in peak shape if you want to compete. Image

7 time-management mistakes that are slowly stealing your life:
1. Letting unimportant tasks take over your day

What you work on is just as (or more) important than how hard you work.

Be careful getting caught up in "busy-work".

How to improve:
- Batch small tasks together
- Reduce your to-do list to 2 or 3 important items
2. Letting distractions in

Distraction is the enemy of progress.

Sadly, we live in a culture of distraction.
Everything around you is fighting for your attention.

Master your focus, master your life.

How to improve:

Depression is extremely common.

Over 280 million people deal with it daily.

My own battle lasted for 15 years, and nearly cost me my life.

I survived because of these 4 mindset shifts:
1. I am not my feelings
2. I must take responsibility

Focus is the most important skill of the 21st century.

But 95% of people struggle to do it.

Follow these steps to 10x your focus instantly (and easily):
🔵 Block out your time:

Break your day up into chunks of time.

This allows you to:
- Visualize your time more easily
- Set a strong intention to focus on one thing at a time
- Keep an unproductive hour from turning into an unproductive day Image
🔵 Assign a specific task to each block:

Assign your tasks based on priority.

Make sure to smash out your biggest needle-moving tasks first.

If you were only able to get ONE THING done today, what would you want it to be?

I studied the top 100 productivity posts of all time on Reddit.

Here are 9 tips you can't live without: Image
1. Create separate users on your computer.

- One for leisure
- One for work

Only keep the essentials on your work profile.
No options for distraction. Image
2. Trick yourself into being productive

We say "just one more game", or "just one more episode" when we're procrastinating.

Apply this to productive tasks:
"Just one line of code"
"Just one rep"

Usually, getting over the initial hump of starting the task is the hardest part. Image

7 habits that are damn hard to do, but pay off forever:
1. Delaying gratification

Your ability to delay gratification will largely determine where you end up in life.

It sounds extreme, but it's true.

You wouldn't plant a seed, and dig it up every 2 days to check on it.

True growth requires patience and discipline.
2. Fixing your sleep

I used to think it was normal that I felt fatigued by 4PM every day.

It wasn't until after I fixed my sleep, I realized I had been deprived of it for years.

Low quality/quantity sleep will kick your ass.

Here's what I did:

Studies show we're distracted EVERY 40 SECONDS.
