Jake Wagner, his father and brother removed the clothing they wore that night then entered their Adams County home to put on new clothes. Jake Wagner said his mother was in the kitchen when they returned around 4:30 a.m. on April 22, 2016, but he did not talk to her then. 2/7
Jake Wagner said he and Wagner IV dug a hole in a barn on their property. They buried weapons there, in a duffle bag, after he had cut them up with a grinder and attempted to melt them with a torch. 3/7
Jake and his father later unburied the weapon parts, dumping them in five-gallon buckets of concrete. At some later date, the whole family took the buckets to the home of his grandparents, Fredericka and Bob Wagner, owners of the Flying W Farms in Lucasville. 4/7
They used the buckets to weigh down a "goose box" -- a 4x8 platform that laid on the water for geese nests. The goose box was a present for Bob Wagner, now deceased. They installed it on a Flying W lake. 5/7
Special Prosecutor Angela Canepa asked Jake Wagner if the family talked about the crimes after April 2016. Not much, he said. "I could not bear to be thinking of what I had been doing and what I had done without having immense guilt," he said. "I tried to erase the memory." 6/7
