We're attending the Critical Thinking & Media Literacy online session w/ Prof Deborah Brown from the Critical Thinking Project at UQ & journalist @PeterGreste Prof Brown says critical thinking training can help people to analyse & evaluate arguments & claims on social media
She says plenty of research showing us that students are struggling to apply critical thinking to their social media use and this makes them vulnerable to misinformation. This research led them to design the MediaAcademy course for Queensland high school students
The course teaches students to write responsible and high quality news stories which are then published in this state online newspaper inqld.com.au
