I was with @2022arrested when she was arrested for the heinous crime of asking a man to leave the female toilets in a bar. In a classic case of guilt by association the 3 of us with her were also kicked out. The bouncer took the drinks we just paid for and spilled them on us.

I asked the female staff member what happened. She said B asked a tw to leave the female toilets. I asked what's a tw. She called me transphobic. I asked her what transphobic means. She said something like disrespect of people who have transitioned. I asked what transition means.

She called me transphobic. Her and the bouncers demanded we leave. After some back and forth with them, I exited the bar while gleefully ripping the piss out of the burley bouncer who seemed to enjoy his authority. He told me he didn't know if his mother was a man or a woman 😂

I walked around the outside of the bar's fence where some other friends were sitting and told them what had happened. The female bar staff then came to their table and told them to leave too, presumably because of their guilt by association of talking to me. @cleancitybird

The 3 of us including @PankhurstEM who were with B stood in the rain while she was searched and put in the back of a police van. There were 5 police officers present during the arrest of one woman in her mid fifties for a non violent so called crime.

Two male police officers were tasked with keeping us away from B while the other police officers were processing her arrest. She was as white as a trans-identified translucent ghost.

@swpolice Those two officers were great! I asked them both individually to listen to what happened as they had arrived on the scene later. They said they wouldn't be able to comment and I said that was fine and just pleaded with them to lend me their ears. They did.

I explained simply about what had happened. I said B asked a man to leave the female toilets and the bar staff then kicked her and the rest of us out simply because we were with her. #guiltbyassociation

I said we have a protected belief that sex is real, men can't become women and women have a right to their own spaces. I said it was discrimination to kick us out of the bar for having that belief.

I pleaded to their common sense & humanity that they know in their hearts this shouldn't be a crime. Obviously they didn't make any comment. But they listened and I am very thankful to both of them. I could tell from their faces they understood our very reasonable position.

The sergeant was quite rude; wouldn't even tell me his name when I politely asked. He said they were about to take B away and the rest of us should leave. I asked him to please listen to what I had to say and he refused. I was almost in tears.

I don't think he knew I had been kicked out just because I was with B (poor investigation on the part of a sergeant wouldn't you say, especially since this ordeal had already been going on for a couple of hours?!)

One of the male officers then addressed his sergeant and said something like "I think you should listen to what she has to say and then decide how to move forward". The sergeant then listened to me explain very sensibly and simply what had happened.

He then walked back to B in the van and a few minutes later it was all over and we were all on our way home. I sincerely thanked the officer who spoke up to his superior in order to give me a chance to be heard & defend B.

It would appear common sense and humanity prevailed.
