Interestingly, the account that has complained about me seems no longer to exist. I suspect the usual form of cowardice that often goes hand in hand with this kind of intimidation.
I have received as yet no reply to my email from @EventbriteUK requesting either an appeal mechanism or details of exactly why me and @moleatthedoor are ‘hateful, dangerous and violent’. I therefore hope to be speaking to my solicitor today.
He agrees I have a sound Equality Act claim and also wishes to explore Article 10 and defamation issues. I therefore expect to set up the crowdfunder at the end of the two week period. I am afraid I have no faith that @EventbriteUK will respond or do the right thing.
So #LawFare it is. I am so sorry we have to keep doing this. But I do not see what other options we have. Thanks to everyone who has indicated they will support this financially.
The event will go ahead. If the Conway Hall are persuaded to pull it, I will add them to any legal action. We already have the promise of another venue. 2nd December 7pm. I have the list of all those who bought tickets.
And of all the institutional captures and cowardice, the one that cuts the deepest for me is the silence from the Bar. Where are you? Apart from some honourable exceptions, your silence continues to deafen.

Update: Initial conference with solicitors today who will begin conflict checks and then hopefully be able to take my instructions. We agree that Equality Act/breach of contract most straightforward route - but there are interesting questions around JR/Article 10.
I will allow @EventbriteUK 14 days to respond but don't expect a reply - particularly as their email appears to have been sent via the San Francisco head office and I assume they will just ignore me. So be it. I will launch Crowdfunder on November 9th via the @BadLawTeam platform
I will try to raise £50K which should comfortably get me in a court with specialist representation. If the money runs out, I will take it as far as I can on my own but I will need specialist help to get this started.
Of course irrational fear of someone for their sexuality or gender identity is ‘wrong’. But believing that sex is real and it matters is not ‘wrong’ - this belief and it’s manifestation is protected at law. So too is a belief that homosexuality is against God’s will.
What no one may do is abuse or harass another for their sexuality or gender identity. But for a society to function, you cannot demand that others may not think or say things you don’t like or don’t agree with - that isn’t abuse or harassment.
There are people who genuinely seem to see no distinction between a discussion about why medical transition of children is dangerous, and a person who physically attacks another for being gay.
Those attempting to 'cancel' people for having beliefs they do not like are meeting significant pushback, not least from the courts who ensure that they face considerable financial consequences in damages and costs.
As a strategy, it is failing and it is failing expensively. So what now? My fear is of course that it escalates. A small subset have grown used to getting what they want the moment they demand it. Will they be able to accept that things are different now?
Now talking is @MForstater - I have a precedent using my name - audience cheers and claps.
‘My case was about the completely ordinary belief that there are men and women… we can’t stop perceiving this. Now I am a single issue campaigner with @SexMattersOrg
The creation of bogus data, generated by the malicious or the hysterical, is not a ‘win’ for anyone. It seems clear that ‘communities’ which rely on this are generating greater ill feeling from other sections of the population.
