A long thread showing just how deep childe's lore goes since hyv won't:
Origins (sources for the lore used here):
· Back when the Primordial One ruled over the world/Teyvat, (I don’t know what to call the world, because Teyvat is just one of the continents in it. The rest of the continents are all part of the deep sea, aka ruins of dead civilizations, Khaenriah became a part+
of it after the cataclysm. Orobashi and some other gods had fled to the deep sea to avoid the archon war) there was one unified human civilization that existed. They all shared one culture and language.
· They lived in harmony and in tandem with the Seelie race and the three+
Moon Sisters
· This civilization had Greek inspirations linguistically (names+language etc.) Ajax, Teucer, Tonia, and Anton are all names with Greek origins, none of them have Slavic origins (as far as I could find out)
· We already know about Ajax and Teucer, so:
· Tonia was likely derived from: Tonya and Thoania are both Greek. Tonya was an ancient Greek town, and Thoania is derived from the Greek king Thoantas who fled from the land of Taurus to Tonya.
· Antony/Anton was one of the sons of Hercules, his sons were a clan known as the Antonioi/Antonios/Antonides.
· Childe’s hydro weapons look exactly like the ones scattered about in Enkanomiya. Even the cloth attached to them looks like Childe’s scarf when it’s activated with both his vision and delusion.
· These all point to his family being descendants of the ancient race.
His parents also likely have that knowledge because they gave their children names from the culture instead of Snezhnayan names.
· His lore states that the Abyss called him, but was it actually the Abyss or the Irminsul of Snezhnaya? Perhaps a mixture of both?
· He fell in between the roots of Snezhnaya’s Irminsul, we know this because he stated it in Labyrinth Warriors. He fought in between the roots+
· Irminsul trees connect to all the ley lines of Teyvat and their roots go down miles deep to the abyss, they essentially store all the memories of the land. When damaged by Abyssal creatures, they leak memories out (Ei’s 2nd story quest when the wolf whelps were attacking the+
Sacred Sakura’s roots).
· How much has Childe seen? Not to mention the Abyssal mud that makes people who fall into it see the memories of the land the mud lays in. (Zhiqiong in the Chasm who saw the memories of the ancient upside-down city and questioned the gods in her final+
letter to the traveler).
· There is no telling how much he saw or how much of Teyvat’s history he has seen, given the presence of both the Irminsul roots and Abyssal mud in the Abyss.
· In his voice lines he constantly talks about wanting to crush the thrones of the gods+
this is most likely about the celestial gods rather than the archons.
· Given everything he knows, him being a part of the Fatui and the Tsaritsa’s goals, it only makes sense that he wants to crush the thrones and the arrogance of the celestial gods.
· Most if not all the Harbingers share one common enemy: The celestial gods, as we see by their lore:
· The Pale Flame’s Mocking Mask: “So too did I fail to stop them from tearing away the veil of sin, ushering in a tide of divine wrath, destruction, and foolishness.”+
“Proud Fatui comrades, I know your hearts harbor both the fires of rage and the cold of eternal winter. Each one of us has borne witness to the absurd callousness of the foundational principles of this world.”
· The Pale Flame’s Stainless Bloom: “We share the same goal, you, your Tsaritsa, and I. Cleanse the sources of distortion in this world: short-sighted, ignorant gods and the darkness and corruption of the Abyss.”
· More about Tartaglia V: “One day, you will see how I conquer the world and crush the thrones of gods beneath my heel.”
· These lines all not just allude, but pretty much point at the gods being the Celestial gods. Celestia set the heavenly principles, aka the foundational+
principles, in order to remain in power and have full control over Teyvat.
· Even in the Teyvat Travail trailer the Abyss Twin states that their war is with the heavenly principles (it says destiny in the English trailer, but that translation is just wrong. Both the Japanese+
and Chinese trailers have the Abyss Twin say “My war with the heavenly principles will not end.)
How Childe and Kokomi’s lore link together along with the history of Teyvat:
· In Watatsumi there is a book in Borou Village that you can find called The Life of Mouun the Shrine Maiden that details the tragic life of the Divine Priestess Mouun.
· Legends in Watatsumi talked of a huge whale who lived in the depths of the ocean called Daikengyou. It is described to be an almost god-like figure who ruled the depths.
· 500 narwhals guarded its left flank and 500 humpback whales played music to its right.+
· Now, Child is ubiquitously represented by a narwhal, his constellation is a narwhal, his boss battle ult is a narwhal, and one of his boss drops is a tusk of a whale (“The image of a whale cruising across celestial heights represents a solipsism that seeks to crush and devour+
all in its path”), his Foul Legacy ost “The Wrath of Monoceros Caeli” has the calls of a whale.
· Monoceros = unicorn in Greek, so his constellation is = unicorn sky (Greek+Latin).
· His boss fight’s massive Aoe is a humpback whale that soars through the starry sky
· Kokomi’s trailer shows a Humpback whale swimming above her, and her Ult also has a whale that appears briefly
· Both of these are Christian imagery.
· The narwhals represent Cherubim angels and the humpbacks Seraphim angels.
· In heaven, Cherubim angels guard God’s throne while Seraphim sing and play music to God.
· The Cherubim are warrior angels whose main goal is to protect God’s throne and the garden of eden
· In heaven, Cherubim angels guard God’s throne while Seraphim sing and play music to God
· Both Childe and Kokomi are connected to the original race, Childe in general while Kokomi’s ancestors were specifically from the bunch that fell into and lived in Enkanomiya.
· The Enkanomiyans originally, like the race they were a part of, originally worshipped both the+
Primordial one and Istaroth. (As seen from The Byakuyakoku Collection.)
Childe + stars:
· If we go into the Teyvat is upside down theory, Childe has tons of connections to the true sky.
· In the theory, the Abyss contains the true sky of the world Teyvat is in. We see that sky in Spiral Abyss and in the 2.6 quest (and maybe on Mona’s island+
from the Golden Apple event too. Interestingly, the stars on Mona’s island sparkle and twinkle, unlike the sky we see in Teyvat)
· This means that Childe has seen the true sky of the world at 14. At 14 he learned that the world he and everyone else knows is fake.
· Scara calls the world and sky and stars fake for this very reason.
· Polar Star: also known as the guiding star and something sailors and travelers use to guide them back home. The Harbingers call themselves the guides and call to the Polar Star for guidance.
· “Lift up your eyes to the white, glimmering stars, for that is our banner.” “You who will match with us towards the polestar of the white night, come!”
· Childe’s Foul Legacy weapons have his constellation on them, his boss drops also have star imagery, Starconches.
The Tsaritsa + Shiva, K.K + Brahma, and the Traveller + Vishnu.
· The Cryo gemstone is called the Shivada, making the Tsaritsa be represented by the Hindu god Shiva.
· Hoyoverse is very specific with their romanization of names in their games. For example, Venti and Wendy both+
have the same romanization in Chinese. But, in English, they’re different names. The K.K. mentioned both in Genshin and Honkai are written in English and written exactly the same, alluding them to be the same person.
· K.K. in Genshin is the person who introduces the travelers and in Honkai is mentioned as one of the 13 Flamechasers. In a developer stream, they revealed K.K. as having Brahma genes from the Honkai beast+
· Shiva and Brahma are two of the three primordial Hindu gods: the Trimurti. The third god is Vishnu.
· The three maintain the life and death cycle of the universe. Brahma created the universe and thus the earth, Vishnu preserves and protects the world, and Shiva destroys the+
world once it becomes impure and evil, purifying the world and destroying all evil.
· The Tsaritsa is represented by Shiva because she wants to destroy Teyvat and purify the Abyss in order to kill all evil and give birth to a pure world, just like the “old world”. This metaphor+
also thus extends to the Harbingers
· A quote that is in Childe’s Foul Legacy in Enemies of Note: “The pitch-black memory of stepping into uttermost darkness, shall, at last, become the strength by which you will overturn this world.”
· Shivada Jade Gemstone (quote likely said to a harbinger): “Sorry… to also have you shoulder the grievances of the world. Since you could endure my bitter cold, you must have the desire to burn? Then, burn away the old world for me.”
· Polar Star (said by Pierro): Know that destruction of all precedes the birth of a new order. At devastation’s end, we will greet a stainless dawn.”
· Winter Night’s Lazzo, by Pierro: But Rosalyne, I promise you.. Your final resting place will be the entirety of the “Old World”
Vishnu, the traveler and Childe:
· The traveler has many symbolisms and connections to Vishnu
· Vishnu is the god of preservation and the protector; his job is maintaining the balance between good and evil.
· Vishnu is heavily associated with light and in several ancient texts (i.e. Linga Purana) is said to lead the seven solar/star gods
· Vishnu only partakes in necessary war, when the balance of the world is threatened
· Vishnu carries 4 items in his 4 hands, one of them is a celestial conch called the Panchajanya
· The conch represents a vanguard, and Vishnu blows it to announce his presence in the battlefield and also to symbolize the start of a war
· The conch has 2 origins, one from a whale and the other during a cataclysmic event where the gods and demons had to work together to purify the earth
· In early beta, Childe was supposed to travel together with the traveler, he’s the Tsaritsa’s vanguard, and his ascension+
material is the Starconch
· (This can point to him being a possible weapon for the traveler too, or him being integral in the final battle that helps to destroy the fake world and give birth to the true Teyvat once more)
A thread by me and @polarseastar on the suspicious Celestial imagery and clues surrounding Childe.
This thread is going to be a compilation of all the weird Celestial links Childe has that we've been noticing for the past year. Fontaine has only added to our suspicion. As insane as this sounds, bear with us.
Let's start off with Fontaine, shall we? We already know that the Fontaine archon quest is pretty much an allegory to the Last Supper (hence, the overture trailer was called "The Final Feast"). Here, you can see that the original Chinese text alludes to Neuvillette as the+
How Childe is possibly connected to Fontaine's prophecy, a thread:
First, let's recap what Fontaine's prophecy was:
- Everyone in Fontaine is born with sin, and no one can be absolved from it
- One day, the water levels in Fontaine will rise and drown and dissolve everyone until only the hydro archon is left on her throne, weeping
What was the primordial sea?
- We know from Neuvillette that there was once a special sea on the *surface* of this planet where almost all life originated from
- That sea no longer exists on the planet's *surface*
liyue: yelan, guizhong (her dumbbell) zhongli (??? i only put him bc he’s an archon but he has given in NOTHING in terms of lore or seems important in the main storyline)
