🔞 #ranwan age gap, infidelity, underage, trans cwn, mistress a-ning

see the thing is—chu wanning knew the man was married. the ring on his finger was one of the first things he noticed when they first met in the cluttered garage of the carwash chu wanning works at.
mo ran’s car had been a tad fancier than their regular customers. his house was nearby, apparently, and the carwash’s service was plenty satisfactory so he never bothered to look for another.

“you look young,” he’d said back then. “you the owner’s son or are you working here?”
“working,” chu wanning had briefly replied. he’d tried his hardest not to be distracted from cleaning the car, but he never saw anyone quite like mo ran before.

he’s met his fair share of handsome men, of course, but mo ran—or mo zongshi, as everyone calls him—he was different.
he was 𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴.

chu wanning once thought that he was above shallow attraction, but 𝘨𝘰𝘥, was he wrong.

chu wanning wasn’t chatty like the other attendants. he’d hardly talked at all, but mo ran seemed to have taken a liking to him during their one-sided conversation.
“here, call my number if you need anything. if you get sick of working here, i can set you up somewhere better.”

chu wanning had thoughtlessly taken the business card offered to him. he never called, though, his pride stopping him from contacting a complete stranger for help.
chu wanning thought that was the last of it. if he had a friend, maybe he’d tell them about the nice, gorgeous man he met at the carwash he worked at, but he doesn’t.

and that was that.

the business card remained tucked away in his drawer, the number never dialed.
but mo ran was a regular, he’d neglected to remember.

and from that day on, he would specifically request for chu wanning to clean his car.

mo ran is their richest customer, so the boss never refused any of his requests. he had his car cleaned every week, always on tuesdays.
it’s tuesday again.

chu wanning pretends that mo ran’s presence is unrelated to his decision to style his hair in a braid today.

“new look?” mo ran teases with a twinkle in his eyes, arms crossed as he leans against the wall, watching chu wanning work.

“shut up.”
mo ran laughs his the response. chu wanning doesn’t know what’s so entertaining about him. why doesn’t mo ran ever wait in the snack bar like the rest of the customers who come here? car washing is such a boring process, mo ran couldn’t possibly be that interested in it.
“it’s nice,” mo ran says after he’s done laughing, eyes crinkling up with a smile. “you look pretty.”

chu wanning nearly sprays the hose on himself, the pink flush that erupts on his face spreading down to his neck.

“don’t be ridiculous,” he spits out, tone garbled.
“what? i’m telling the truth!”

chu wanning doesn’t face him, still red in the face as he asks, “is our food bland?”

caught off guard, mo ran asks, “what?”

chu wanning turns around, arms crossed.

“our food must be horrible if you’ve never once waited in the snack bar.”
mo ran seems a little stunned before he relaxes, smiling that damned smile again. god, that fucking smile.

“why would i wait in the snack bar when watching you is so fun?”

chu wanning scowls, going back to work.

“nothing’s fun about watching someone wash a car.”
“sure there is.”

“do tell.”

mo ran doesn’t answer. chu wanning bends over slightly as he scrubs the hood with a microfiber towel.

chu wanning turns back after realizing that mo ran hasn’t spoken. a stray lock of hair falls over his eye. he brushes it back.

“mo zongshi?”
mo ran seems to snap out of his trance. he smiles questioningly, looking a little distracted.

“hm?”

chu wanning studies his face before turning back to the car again.

“the food is nice,” he mumbles. “the custard buns, especially.”

“is it? then i’ll buy one after this.”
he’s about to be finished with the car when the incident happens. the carwash accepts repair jobs sometimes, and the mechanic who occasionally drops by is a little clumsy when it comes to fixing his things.

the hose snags on a stray nail. unaware, chu wanning drags it over.
water sprays everywhere, soaking him from head to toe. he hastily runs to the faucet and turns it off, biting on his lip to keep himself from cursing.

now he’ll have to replace the damn thing.

“a-ning—”

“i’m fine.”

chu wanning shivers a little, shirt sticking to his skin.
he turns around to apologize in case some of the water got to mo ran. the words die in his throat when he sees the look in those eyes.

the shirt he’s wearing is a little thin. his bra is distractingly visible through the fabric.

he covers his chest with his arms, blushing.
“your car’s finished. just pay at the counter.”

“are you okay?”

“i’m fine,” he repeats curtly. he doesn’t have any spare clothes, so he’ll probably have to go home like this.

“do you have a change of clothes?”

chu wanning doesn’t answer, scowling at the floor.
mo ran gently touches his elbow.

“i have a shirt in the car and my house is nearby.”

chu wanning looks up, startled.

“what?” he blanks out for a moment before he starts to refuse. “no, my shift isn’t over yet—”

“you have ten minutes left, right? i’m sure the boss won’t mind.”
“you don’t have to—”

“c’mon, i won’t be able to sleep knowing i could’ve stopped you from getting a fever from this.”

chu wanning casts his gaze downward, worrying on his lower lip as he thinks about it.

mo ran follows the picture he makes with his gaze.
he really would’ve refused, but he still needs to replace the hose and he needs money for that. if he gets sick, he’ll have to skip work and lose money.

so he reluctantly nods. mo ran beams, shooting him that attractive crooked grin again.

“great. hold on, i’ll get the shirt.”
chu wanning changes in the bathroom. the shirt’s several sizes too big on him, but the fabric feels exceptionally soft.

it must be pricey. his fingers brush over his exposed collarbones, a little uncomfortable at how much skin is showing, but he forces himself to get a move on.
he explains the situation to his employer. the boss is pretty nice to people who do diligent work, and chu wanning is one of those people.

“you can split the payment with the mechanic. it’s partly his fault for being careless with his things anyway.”

he nods gratefully.
it’s a bit uncomfortable walking with wet pants on, but he stubbornly bears it.

up until he realizes he’s going to have to sit in mo ran’s car.

“no.”

“a-ning, it’s fine—”

“it’ll ruin your leather seats!”

“it won’t,” mo ran laughs exasperatedly, urging him along.
“no.”

“we’ll put a towel over it, how’s that?”

chu wanning acquiesces at that. it’s not until the car is already moving that it fully hits him.

he’s in mo ran’s car.

wearing his shirt.

on the way to his 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦.

chu wanning squirms on his seat, looking down at his hands.
“everything alright?” mo ran asks after glancing at him at the corner of his eye.

“yes.”

the car carries mo ran’s scent. chu wanning turns a bit heady with it.

“is this really okay?” chu wanning asks suddenly. “i don’t feel comfortable taking advantage of you.”

mo ran laughs.
“you? taking advantage of me?” mo ran shakes his head, grinning. “now that’s funny.”

chu wanning’s lips twist in a pout as he crosses his arms.

“i just don’t want your wife to misunderstand.”

silence.

chu wanning only realizes what he said when it’s too late to take it back.
“i meant—”

“don’t worry.”

the car takes a turn at a bend in the road. chu wanning doesn’t look at mo ran, already expecting what he’s going to say.

“why would she misunderstand anything?” mo ran would probably ask.

but instead…

“she’s not at home.”
chu wanning probably should’ve realized it at that moment—something’s wrong with this. something’s off.

but he doesn’t.

in his eyes, mo zongshi could do no wrong.

chu wanning nods, shutting up. mo ran puts some music on, making him relax after a while.
it’s not a long ride. like mo ran said, it’s pretty close by.

chu wanning gazes up at the flashy mansion.

it’s beautiful, certainly, but… it doesn’t seem like his style.

chu wanning shakes his head, mentally chastising himself. how would 𝘺𝘰𝘶 know what his style is?
they’re welcomed by a housemaid when entered. mo ran hands over his coat, thanking her politely before he guides chu wanning up the stairs with a hand on the small of his back.

“it’s a nice house,” chu wanning murmurs as they walk along the quiet hallway, admiring the wallpaper.
“mhm, thank you.”

they stop in front of what seems to be the master bedroom. mo ran opens the door and urges him inside first. chu wanning surveys the room silently.

there’s a vanity table in the corner of a room. even an idiot would be able to guess who it belongs to.
chu wanning’s face darkens, abruptly looking away. mo ran rummages through the closet, pulling out a pair of leggings that his wife never uses.

“here. this should fit.”

chu wanning accepts it with a murmured, “thanks.”

mo ran smiles and ruffles his hair.

like he’s a kid.
“i’m 18,” he blurts out.

he just turned 16. it’s a lie. he’s lying. he lied to his boss too so he’d let him work. for the second time in his life, he’s 𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨.

to mo ran of all people.

and he doesn’t even know why he’s doing it.

“you don’t have to treat me like a kid.”
mo ran’s surprise lasts for a few seconds before he breaks out into a smile again. chu wanning wonders how one person could smile so much.

“gotcha. a-ning is an adult.”

feeling ridiculed, chu wanning huffs and stomps to the bathroom to change. he hears mo ran cackle behind him.
chu wanning leans against the door, letting out a soft sigh. a small blush sits on his cheeks as he traces a finger over the collar of mo ran’s shirt, closing his eyes as he inhales his scent.

then he clenches his fist over the pair of leggings belonging to mo ran’s 𝘸𝘪𝘧𝘦.
right. mo ran is married.

mo ran is 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥.

he pushes himself off the door and changes out of his wet pants quickly. it leaves him with no underwear on, but he doesn’t care anymore. he just wants to leave as soon as possible before he starts deluding himself further.
he’s out of the bathroom in less than a minute, looking tense.

“thank you. i’ll pay you back sometime in the future. i’ll be going now.”

“wait, hold on—”

mo ran grabs his wrist before he could zoom out of the room.

“what’s the hurry? you should stay for dinner.”
“there’s no need—”

“i insist.”

mo ran smiles at him, cajoling him into agreeing.

“i’ll even cook for you.”

chu wanning’s ears perk up at that. mo ran resists the urge to snicker at his cuteness.

“really?”

mo ran nods.

“really really.”
“then…”

say no, chu wanning’s rational mind tells him. this isn’t a good idea on your part and you know it.

“i guess.” chu wanning has never hated himself more. “okay.”

mo ran looks relieved. he smiles happily, patting chu wanning’s head.

“i’ll make it worth a-ning’s while.”
chu wanning responds with a smile.

mo ran stares for a long time—long enough to make chu wanning fidget under his gaze.

“mo zongshi?”

mo ran’s gaze meets his.

“you should smile more often,” mo ran says softly.
chu wanning blinks as mo ran reaches out to hold the braid in his hand, running his thumb over the crisscrossing strands gently before settling it over his shoulder.

“you have a beautiful smile, a-ning.”

chu wanning’s heart thumps loudly inside his chest.
“thank you,” he murmurs, not meeting mo ran’s eyes. “for the clothes.”

“you’re welcome.”

chu wanning tugs at the hem of the shirt he’s wearing.

“these leggings…”

his tone takes on a hint of frostiness.

“belong to your wife, right?”
mo ran’s silent for a few seconds before he responds, “yeah.”

“i see.”

the collar slips over his shoulder. he brings it back up, missing the flash in mo ran’s gaze.

“she must be a lovely woman.”

mo ran hums, not giving a straight answer. chu wanning shifts slightly.
he’s about to say something when the door opens.

she’s breathtakingly beautiful. her dress perfectly accentuates her flawless figure, her face strikingly familiar. even chu wanning recognizes her as the woman who regularly makes an appearance in billboards and commercials.
her brow lifts sharply at the presence of another person in the bedroom she shares with her husband.

the terse silence lasts for a minute.

“the shooting ended early today,” she eventually says.

chu wanning stands frozen, feeling like he was doused with bucket of cold water.
he watches as song qiutong approaches a similarly frozen mo ran. he watches as she bats her lashes up at him, sneaking her arms around his shoulders and standing on her tiptoes to kiss him lightly on the lips.

“no welcome home for me?”

chu wanning’s clenched fists tremble once.
mo ran opens his mouth, but no words come out. song qiutong glances at chu wanning, smiling as she waves at him. she doesn’t question his presence, turning back to mo ran, tracing the curve of his jaw with a slender finger.

“or are you too busy with your new charity case?”
