Suppose, like in the case of “food with pesticides”, we decide to reverse the direction and wish to go back to pure natural variety food, without any genetic modification and there is none available anywhere;

what do we do then? We will be forced to eat whatever is given to us, be it Genetically Modified Rice or Genetically Modified Brinjal or Genetically modified animal meat with human growth genes in them!

We have come to realize the ills of eating pesticide-sprayed food, only after forty years of chemical based agriculture. We do not yet know how these
Genetically Modified foods will react with nature, with our bodies, with our health; and yet preparations are being made to

release these foods into the Indian Market.
Does it look scary? It is in its first steps and will soon become our future if we do not wake up as consumers. To those who harp on Genetic Engineering as the new-age science this might
seem like paranoid talk, especially since

we all seem to be in an overdose of admiration for the likes of Ex-Prez, Abdul Kalam, who speaks about the future belonging to GMOs (Genetically Modified organisms – plants, fish, animals…). That, on the same platform in the same function he also said that

organic agriculture is the way for us to move forward, is another issue for us to debate about.
