survivors of abuse at Echo church at the hands of these two pastors tell me their stories of psychological abuse in their office where they were bullied, intimidated, coerced, belittled, gaslit silenced, called names, etc. in a clear pattern over many years. Many are in 🧵

therapy yrs late. 3 started having panic attacks in Andy’s presence. Several have gone through EMDR for these abusive closed-door meetings. Most quietly moved away to heal. Some can’t drive past Echo church’s campuses (even yrs later). Several cannot walk into a church w/o 🧵

their autonomic nervous system reacting to feeling unsafe due to trauma from the abuse of these two pastors. Their abuse was to our souls & brains, but the body keeps the score. I warn about these two abusive pastors because they will not seek help to stop deceiving. They 🧵

have too many bodies behind the bus who r limping in silence w/ #NDAs 2 cover their covert abuse. As the therapist who’s helping many of the Echo church survivors says, “It’s designed for u not to see it.” The charm, grandiosity & fauxnerability (as @chuckdegroat says) entices.

Many r told that each of us survivors are “just wounded,” or “unhealthy,” “wanted a higher position,” or “wanted a raise.” It’s all to distract from allegations by discrediting whistleblowers. They offer a job to those who question from the outside as a means of ingratiation. 🧵

Those individuals r often being groomed as guard dogs who bark at those with allegations because they are now loyal, having only seen their intentionally crafted good side. I saw that good side too. I was groomed & ingratiated too, after all, until I saw the dark side behind 🧵

the curtain after I questioned a man who is both prideful & insecure with a stage presence of humility and a controlling anger behind closed doors. It’s time to clear the stage & release the many from #NDAs given by Andy Wood & Filipe Santos. If he is “cleared,” why r there 🧵
