Jeff Goldblum spent a huge amount of time working out in the gym to be remembered for being 6'4' and 200 pounds and a fine pianist, but still he gets stuck being remembered as That Science Nerd.

Similarly, Sigourney Weaver and John Lithgow don't really like sci-fi, but still ...

The big issue that nobody is talking about is that during this century, Asian test scores on the SAT and ACT have been pulling away from the field -- whites, blacks, and Hispanics -- like Secretariat in the 1973 Belmont Stakes.

Whites averaged higher SATs than Asians in the 1980s, but Asians are now outscoring whites on average by about 150 points on the SAT college admissions test and blacks by nearly 300 points.

The rise to statistical dominance of Asian applicants to colleges (the gaps are somewhat less immense on post-graduate tests like the LSAT) upends the traditional talking black and white points in the affirmative action debate.

I read Rishi Sunak is the first "Person of Color" British Prime Minister. But what about Benjamin Disraeli (1868 and 1874-1880), a Sephardic Jew with little European ancestry? Arguably a POC, right?

In general, Disraeli's fabulous career is hard to reconcile w/white supremacy.
Disraeli's dad had his son convert to Christianity as an adolescent, but it's not as if somebody named Disraeli who looked like Disraeli could pass for anything other than an ethnic Jew. Disraeli had his wisest Jewish character explain in his novels: "All is race."
In the House of Commons, Disraeli insulted the recently enfranchised Irish Catholic leader Daniel O'Connell:

"Yes, I am a Jew, and while the ancestors of the right honorable gentleman were brutal savages in an unknown island, mine were priests in the temple of Solomon."

David Simon, creator of "The Wire," opines on murder statistics in Baltimore vs. Boise.

According to the CDC, in 2018-2021 there were 25 homicides in Ada County, ID, home to Boise, for a rate of 1.3 / 100,000.

There were 1097 in Baltimore City, MD, for a rate of 46.3, 36x worse
But, keep in mind that David Simon is talking about _his_ chance of being murdered in Baltimore as a wealthy white man who doesn't associate with blacks other than black actors. He's not talking about the risks run by working class whites who fled black crime.
I knew a family who tried to make integration work on the West Side of Chicago from 1967 to 1970. They finally gave up after the third felony against their children.

Millions of still living Americans can tell stories like these, but there isn't a market on TV for this history.

You can see the Ferguson Effect in 2015-16 on black homicide death rates, and of course the vast Floyd Effect in 2020. Few know that Hispanic homicide rates dropped sharply from 2005-2014. Asian victimization drifted down even in 2020 contrary to narrative

White homicide victimization rates correlate moderately negatively with how liberal states are: Whites get murdered less often (usually by other whites, of course) in highly pro-Biden states like Massachusetts.
MS has many black killers, NM is a puzzle:

It's possible that voting for Biden correlates with stronger point of sale gun control laws correlate which correlates with lower homicide rates among law-abiding whites. Note, though, that heavily armed leftist Vermont has so few white murders it is left off due to sample size.

This is an important issue w/the Harvard affirmative action case coming up in the Supreme Court: are Asians pulling away from everybody else on the SAT undergrad test because they are so much smarter, or because the SAT is broken? Asians aren't lapping the field on MCAT or LSAT.
Here's the racial breakdown a decade and a half ago on mean scores on the high stakes tests for postgrad education. Back then, Asians were ahead of whites on 5 of 8 tests or subtests, but it wasn't a wipe-out. Does anybody know what has happened since?
