Lula has the challenge of rebuilding and redemocratising the country after the continuing economic crisis, Bolsonaro and the Pandemic.
He was elected in a broader coalition with previous rivals, but with a slim margin.
Bolsonaro used State power 1/
And all the resources he could get his hands on to try to win. He has yet to concede (maybe he won't?).
Lula likely won't abandon his party's focus on reducing inequality, but the broader context and his coalition point to an even more moderate govt than 2003.

This is a different "moderate" than most centre-left western leaders, however. Lula is less focused on diversity signaling and more on substantive economic policies that benefit working people as well as minorities. 3/4
For instance, I wouldn't be surprised if he had plenty of policies aimed at reducing the gender pay gap, violence against women, as well as improving access to child care... but have a larger share of men than women in his cabinet. 4/4
