A lot of attention is paid to the political spending of the NRA. $2900, the max contribution this cycle, doesn't go far in a campaign. A few thousand yard signs maybe. What does get overlooked is the level of dogged policy engagement of single-issue 2A voters. 🧵
Perhaps more than single issue voters in any other policy area, abortion, healthcare, etc, gun rights voters follow every machination of gun policy at all levels of govt. I'm talking nuance the general public wouldn't even begin to engage with.
I'm sure that right now, thousands of single-issue 2A voters & advocates have congressional office phones ringing off the hook. Not just the phone lines of their own representative, but of representatives in other districts as well.
