The rains are said to be continuing or they may fail and we shall have our usual sunny days. But prepping yourself for any emergency is the rightful choice for survival. +
When you are prepared to face the worst, nothing shall stay the worst. We can try to equip ourselves with the necessary stocks at our house and be safe in case of emergency. +
Consider doing the following :
- Stock as much as water you can for domestic purposes since your motor may not work because anytime you may lose the electricity. +

- Buy the necessary groceries, mostly the cereals & vegetables that can be stored for long. Also buy some ready made rotis,rice mix powders & chutneys. Try to eat a soft diet till the rains settle because if you mess up your digestive system,U cannot even step out to go to a hosp
- Buy some candles, some batteries for your torches and recharge your emergency lights. If you have a power bank, charge it to its fullest since we always need the mobile for something. Also do not waste your mobile's charge by listening to songs or watching movies or browsing. +
- Recharge your mobile phones since you may not be able to come out later in rain for that. +
- If U live in a very low lying area and water is upto your knee level inside your compound,stock some plastic covers inside your vehicle silencers so that U don't hav to fear if the water gets inside & also in case of any emergency, you can ride your vehicle without any struggle
- Keep your raincoats and umbrellas ready. Also when you go out, use clothing that can dry up easily than the harder ones. +
- Close your unnecessarily opened windows and doors at day and night, so that you shall not be welcoming a lot of dengue and malaria mosquitoes. +
- Do not go outside in rains unnecessarily, even if you do, make sure no electric wire is in the water. Also wear some rubber slippers as a basic safety precaution. +
- Open the gates for the stray dogs and let them sleep somewhere inside your compound. Do not let them rot in the rains. After all, we are humans! +
Also, spread this word so that a lot of people may get benefited. Especially by word of mouth to your vegetable vendors, your house help, the street vendors, etc because they are the most affected due to ignorance and also they won't be using social media. +
May the water drain soon and those who are homeless live & sleep in peace.
