I know you've probably seen this already, but I can't get past the fact that the Western alt-left is completely misinterpreting the spirit of the moment ⤵️ 
The Russo-Ukrainian War is absolutely an anti-imperialistic war for the Ukrainian side. The great majority of the Western world completely gets this, the Western youth especially (and they're the ones who may choose to go left ideologically).
This is THE war of the modern era (for now) and the eyes of the progressive world are on it. The alt-left is destroying its societal base of support by acting as this was the Vietnam or Second Iraq War.
There are no two empires fighting it out in Ukraine, this is the case of David vs. Goliath (and David is winning). This is the struggle for the existence of the Ukrainian nation, they are literally under attack by a would-be empire, which calls their nation and state artificial.
If the alt-left can't grasp this, then they've buried themselves to deep in the anti-Americanism they've become accustomed to since the 1990s. The USA isn't the only country in the world which can wage imperialistic wars.
Instead of trying to recapture the protests of the 1970s and their youth, they should try to bring back their consciousness to the year 2022, in which an evil revanchist nuclear power is trying to wipe its neighbor of the face of the Earth.
My message is this - stop embarrassing yourself and your ideals. Return from the dark side and grasp the moment before it's to late and you're stuck with that warmongering label forever. You're in the service of an evil empire at the moment - for Pete's sake.
