Raspberry Pi case in Mac mini style
A few details about the project in🧵
1/10 #raspberrypi
2/10
The idea was very simple - to make a device based on the Raspberry Pi 4, and leave only the essentials. Plus PoE (Power over Ethernet).
Hide the printed circuit board and unnecessary interfaces. Make it closer to the average user.
3/10
Made as a simple square with rounded edges, unlike the Mac mini, where the case is a squircle en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squircle
4/10
One of my very first projects. Unknowingly and naively I used the Raspberry logo, which violates their rights (I wonder how Chinese case makers do it).
5/10
Made a total of 3 copies, which ended up costing me about $2,500, and spent all the money I won the hackathon that year
6/10
The development was very interesting and I learned a lot in many areas. Including mass production and CNC machining. uplab.pro/2020/10/raspbe…
7/10
Myself, I finally came to the conclusion that it is very long and expensive to run a project with an outside company from scratch.
It is much easier and much faster to make a prototype my myself, and then work with someone else.
8/10
Even taking into account the time to figure out obscure points and learn some details
9/10
At this point, I'm not sure if I will continue with this project. The logo needs to be redone and the circuit boards need to be redesigned since they are using cables at the moment
