Montana Siniff, the fiancé of Oath Keepers member Jessica Watkins, is now testifying.
They met in a comic book shop, playing Magic the Gathering, in 2015.
When he asked her out in the summer of 2016, she blurted out she was trans, he said. Then they started dating.
Siniff says it was painful for Watkins to be discharged from the military. She was hazed during one of her deployments to the point where she feared for her life. "She felt like she had to choose between her life or her honor as a condition of staying."
Siniff talked about running The Jolly Roger Bar and Grill in Woodstock, Ohio. It was struggling, he said. Now talking about the Ohio State Regular Militia.
Siniff said he first heard of the Oath Keepers because of their presence in Ferguson, Missouri.
Siniff, left, talks about going to the Million Maga March in D.C. in November 2020.
They were running late because of Stewart Rhodes, then got stuck in traffic, then basically marched around with Rhodes.
"It appeared to be a very disorganized event," Siniff says.
Was it a fulfilling experience at the Million Maga March?
"Not at all... I did not want to repeat that experience."
Siniff said Watkins was concerned about the U.N. being involved in U.S. elections.
"We did not know what kind of direction things were going to go after Inauguration Day."
Siniff said he was also concerned with vaccine mandates.
Siniff said he didn't go to Jan. 6 because he'd heard they'd be security and he didn't want to do that. He also had concerns about the bar business. "It was very low on funds" and New Years was cut short because of "Mike Dewine's orders" to close the bars before midnight.
Did Watkins ever tell Siniff she had plans to stop the certification of the electoral college vote?
"Absolutely not," Siniff said.
Siniff said he was "very concerned" when he heard that Jessica Watkins went into the U.S. Capitol.
"I thought it was a stupid idea," Siniff said.
He was concerned because the news was making it seem like the worst thing that happened since Sept. 11, he says.
Siniff testifies that he called Watkins after the FBI showed up to their door. Siniff said the FBI presence was very intimidating. Watkins showed back up in 8-10 hours after he called her.
Government playing sizzle reel featuring Watkins and Siniff (they appear at the beginning here):
Siniff says Rhodes was a bit of a micromanager. Watkins was getting obstructions from Rhodes when they were in Louisville, Kentucky.
Government asks whether Siniff told the FBI that Watkins "went into the Capitol to look at paintings." Siniff asks to see his 302 (memorialization of his FBI interview). He's now looking at it.
Siniff now recalls telling the FBI that Watkins looked at paintings.
DOJ: You said this to protect Ms. Watkins, your fiance?
Siniff: I was not intending to mislead the FBI.
Government now showing text Watkins sent to Siniff on Jan. 6 where she said they "muscled the cops back like Spartans."

Chief Judge Beryl Howell questioned whether Troy Faulkner and other Jan. 6 defendants were "still susceptible to a giant lie" and could engage in political violence in the future.
Howell also mentioned several times that Troy Faulkner burned his "FAULKNER PAINTING" jacket that he was wearing when he smashed in a Capitol window on Jan. 6.

Judge Amit Mehta notes to jurors that they've reached an "important milestone" in the case. Two of the defendants reserved their openings, so we could hear from them next.
"They obviously believe they've presented enough evidence to convince the jurors without the testimony of these cooperating witnesses," says @glennkirschner2. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
“I’ve been in this job for seven-and-a-half years, I’ve never had a defendant testify,” Judge Amit Mehta says, discussing Stewart Rhodes' forthcoming testimony in the Oath Keepers seditious conspiracy trial.
Here's audio of Stewart Rhodes talking about hanging Nancy Pelosi in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack, and about how they should have brought rifles:
