Just got this note from my synagogue. The FBI is telling all synagogues in New Jersey that there is a credible threat against us.

I went to shul on last weekend, and noticed that we have multiple security guards stationed at main doorways, which are now always locked.

Shuls in my area are now closing for at least the next 24 hours, which means for many members, celebrating Shabbat will be at home and not in the sanctuary.

The township police department just put this up on Ring. There will be “increased patrols around synagogues.” But also “we ask that you please remain calm.”
