Listening to keynote from @jamesdholt on expanding the boundaries of religions and worldviews in the classroom. #TMRSIcons@TMRSicons
Using phrases such as ‘Most Christians believe’ or ‘Some Christians think’ can be language choices which illustrate diversity within religion and worldviews.
Love this quote from Bell Hooks. Teaching diversity within our curriculum makes both teachers and students shift their ways of thinking.
Extract from Once Upon An Eid illustrates how use of certain words can impact how a student may feel their religious belief is being presented in the classroom.
@jamesdholt emphases that we shouldn’t tokenise diversity within the curriculum. It is better not to include than to include badly.

As RE teachers, we should recognise the importance of narratives to help us make sense of the world and provide a framework for teaching knowledge & concepts. Great to see a reference to @MaryMyatt
I love the idea of using a quote or piece of scripture to drive the narrative of a SOW.
