Childe was keeping an eye on the cups he gently prepared, when a little, curious hand appeared on the table and a pair of pointy horns became more visible.
The little hand tapped the surface and Childe stopped it before the baby could accidentally hit one of the porcelain cups. Looking down, he found a pair of golden-blue eyes staring back at him.
"Mama." The baby blinked. "Whatta doing?" He asked, trying to get the complicated words out because he was still so small."I'm making tea for papa." He gently replied, ruffling the baby's light auburn hair.
"Help...I help mama!" The little dragon said, moving already to climb on the chair, a little clumsily but still better than usual. "No, no, helping mama with this is dangerous for a little baby, Lieng." Childe explained, thinking about the hot water.
He sighed at the sad pout appearing on the little one's face.
"But... mama has an idea, actually."

Childe prepared for the baby some water, forgetting about making hot tea even if it was early november. The little dragon's safety was a priority and his happiness too. Stealing the joy of a little task from a baby was beyond heartless and luckily, Childe was creative enough.
"Alright my love, pour the water in the big pitcher." He helped the baby holding the bottle with the water, gasping when Lieng poured half of the content on the table, missing the pitcher entirely and managing to wet Childe's pants.
"Wow—baby, alright. It's okay, try again my love." Childe smiled, this time moving the pitcher to catch the rest of the water. The little dragon gasped. "Oh-oh!" He looked a little guilty for the spillage, but Childe was still smiling reassuringly.
"Let's pick a tea for papa." The auburn haired man had previously purchased some powered tea, knowing that Zhongli enjoyed it as well. He showed their collection to the baby, letting the small dragon choose something for his papa.
"Choose, my love." He encouraged him, smiling as he waited. Lieng had to grab and look into every single little bag, sniffing it as he looked extremely focused on the task. In the end, he picked a mix of citrus tea and cinnamon.
"Orange." Lieng said, since for the baby any kind of citrus fruit was just "orange".
"Now, papa likes it strong, so we pour four big spoon of the tea, are you ready?" Childe asked, picking the spoon for the baby to use.
The half-dragon discarded the spoon entirely, picking the tea with his little fists, making a mess, of course. Childe chuckled.
"Aren't you creative, my love? Good boy." It was more the powder that was wasted that the one actually in the pitcher, but Childe was sure that Zhongli wouldn't mind.
"An extra spoon is like an extra kiss for our loved ones." Childe said, smiling fondly. "So we will add it to papa's tea." And so he did, watching as the little dragon stared at him with wonder.
"And now... to the stirring part!" Childe clapped his hands, before picking a small metallic rod, often used to stir coktails. "We put the rod in the pitcher... and then we move it. Stir it, my love, c'mon!" The young man moved the baby's hand to follow a circular movement.
"Stir it, stir it! Good boy!" Childe chuckled as the baby noticed that the water finally mixed, turning orange under their eyes. Lieng gasped, his enthusiasm made him use a litttle too much strenght, making the beverage spill a little more.
"Good boy, now let's get some ice..." Childe left the baby alone for a couple of seconds, coming back with the cubes ready. "We prepare the glass for papa... and then we put ice cubes in it." He guided the baby to do it, watching as the baby frowned for the cold.
"Now...very carefully, pur some tea for papa..."
He saw a little bit of a disaster happening, more tea spilling on the table and now Childe looked like he just peed himself.
Lieng waited for mama's reaction, a little afraid to have made him angry, but the Harbinger smiled brigthly. "Good boy." He encouraged the baby, until the glass was filled almost to the brim.
"Did it!" The baby squeaked, proud of himself. Still mostly toothless and with a pair of cute golden horns, Childe found him the most adorable little baby in the world. A little bit of an easy choice for him.

When Zhongli received his tea, he was surprised that it was a cold one. He smiled nonetheless, not even asking the reason. Everything was clear once he noticed his little baby's big eyes on him, patiently waiting for Zhongli's reaction.
The Consultant slowly drank his tea, closing his eyes, smiling as he let himself taste it.
"It's delicious. Who I need to thank for this special treat?" Zhongli asked and the half dragon raised his short arms. "Me! And mama!" He said, making Childe chuckle.
Zhongli placed the now empty glass on his desk, raising from his chair to pick the little baby up. He kissed his forehead and didn't forget to kiss Childe as well.
"Thank you, Lieng. You're so precious." He whispered, holding the baby between his arms.
The Harbinger flushed, because watching his mate acting like an affectionate papa always made him feel like he could give him another thousands of little dragons to smooch and cuddle."I...I spilled a lot of water." The baby confessed, looking at his papa with big, concerned eyes.
Zhongli chuckled. "It's okay, baby. You know what we say? As long as your it's the hand that pours it, it doesn't matter if the glass is half empty or half-full." The Consultant whispered, stroking his nose against the baby's one.
"And mama was there to help, wasn't it? So what you did was great."
Childe nodded, happy that Zhongli enjoyed his tea. The former archon kissed his baby again, smiling fondly at his family.
"Let's prepare even more tea in the days to come, shall we?"

A sage’s words echoed “There's a time and place for everything, but not now." or that’s what Childe would have love to think, because the egg in his belly had another plan entirely.
At the worst time, the little illuminated beast inside him decided that they were tired of sitting in mommy’s womb, so it was time to get out. It was inevitable since eggs weren’t made to stay inside, but oh, the timing.
“Tartaglia!” One of his pyro agents shouted when Childe was about to get hit by a Mitachurl, the pain in his belly making him hiss.
“Don’t! I can do this! ” The Harbinger felt a pang of pain from his belly, his legs shaking as he started to sweat.
Childe needed to write his own guide about baby dragons. Starting with the one he personally gave birth to. Because no, Morax's baby couldn't possibly be an ordinary baby at all.
One day, the baby discovered the existence of his own paws. Zhongli stared at the dragonling munching on his small hands and using them to pull his own hair (and hurting himself!)
"Lieng, don't--" Zhongli would say, watching the baby do the exact opposite.
And if you just discovered your paws, why not put them to use? Childe paled in seeing the small dragon trying to climb a tree.
"You're not a cat, you're a dragon." The Harbinger would say, but of course the baby had no intentions to listen.
