Numerous people have written on Baba Jitto but biggest drawback in their writing was that they saw him through modern prism and plotting him as a ignition of peasant revolt against feudalism; many others by adding a tinge of socialism made it a kind of class struggle.
In reality, the true story was much different here as Durgāradesa (Duggardesh) is a holy land whose true lords are Devi-Devtas themselves; and historically the legitimate rulers ruled here were just their representatives who ruled from their side somewhat like having the Power of
Attorney. Whenever such a sound was about to come which could tamper the original spirit of Dogra country, the God himself used to send his messenger and showed everyone the right path.
Baba Jitto was also a part of that chain. About six and a half hundred years ago, a Brahmin couple Roop Chand and Jajna used to live in a hill village named Ghaar (Aghar) at some distance from Katra. Roop Chand was from the Halwaha(Plough-bearer) stock of Dogra Brahmins
and he was totally dependent on farming for livelihood of his family. His brother's wife Jojaan, who was also sister of her wife, was a witch (Kumbh Daayan) and had tied the womb of her sister so that she could not have any offspring.
Deeply hurt by this, Roop Chand's wife did 12 years of unbroken penance of Shiv Shankar; when her penance was about to be completed, Jojaan started to fill the ears of Roop Chand with ill-will against Jajna and instigated him
that his wife used to go to a temple priest everyday when you used go to the fields and nobody knows what she used to do there with priest. Roop Chand furiously took his dagger and stood outside the temple waiting for his wife.
When Jajna was worshiping Shiva; he appeared and gave her a boon that a devout son would born to her who will gave up his life with same dagger what's her husband was holding outside the temple. When Jajna came out, she narrated everything to Roop Chand who was elated after
listening whole thing. After 9 months a son was born to them.

When astrologers were called to know the horoscope of the child, they informed that the child would be of victorious nature, so he should be named Jeetmal
but affectionately everyone used to address him by the name Jitto. Jitto was still a child, his parents passed away. He was then raised by his uncle and aunt. But his aunt Jojaan always harassed him and forced him to live a miserable life.
She used to torture the child Jitto at every cost as Jojaan had seven sons and she did not want Jitto to get more share of the land.

Once the aunt kicked him out of the house and weeplingly he went to a cave on a hill.
In that cave an ascetic was doing penance for many years and the Goddess appeared as soon as Jitto reached there. Goddess inquired tapasvi about his desire? He replied that he had got her darshan, so, no other desire was with him then.
After this Goddess asked the same to child Jitto what did he wanted, he also replied like an ascetic. Ascetic was surprised to know that some other was in cave other than him.
The ascetic looked back, there was a crying child. He inquired everything about him, then told to him that he was not a common man because he easily got that, for what he spent years. He told him that he did not know who was she whom he saw, she was Mahamayi Vaishno Devi.
He asked him to worship her as it will give strings to his life. After that Jitto got engaged in the devotion of mother Vaishno. On attaining youthful age, he married one of Vaishno 's devotee Ishchara Devi. With time, the devotion of both of them towards Vaishno Maa became
Stronger. There was no desire left in Baba Jitto's mind but Mother wanted to arouse a desire in his mind for Divine Play. Once when he was going to Trikuta mountain for Devi's darshan, on the way he saw Navdurga in the form of Girl Child. Single reflection of that Girl aroused a
question in his mind that he should have such daughter in his home, but after a while he wondered which way he was going.
When he reached at Devi's Bhawan, she asked him whether there was any desire in his heart. Jitto said that he had got the good fortune of her darshan and no desire has left now. On this, the mother said that while coming on the way, a feeling had come in your mind, demand that?
Jitto said that there is a lot of water problem in my village, eradicate it. Mother said that the stream of nectar water will start flowing behind you from my feet when you would go back to your Village and she told him to ask something else?
On this, Jitto said that the way you had given him darshan now, she should always be with him and keep giving darshan. At this Maa gave him a boon that her Shakti would be born in the form of a girl in his house, and She will be with him for 5 years.
Jitto was very happy on this & asked how he could know that it would be she? Mother said that when a girl will born, his wife will pass away. When Jitto reached home, he told the whole thing to his wife, she was very happy and said that if mother's power takes birth from my womb
and even if my life is lost, still no one would be luckier than me.

After 9 months, a girl child was born in his house and his wife Ishchara Devi passed away. When there was mourning everywhere, first of all, Jitto ran to his daughter and started washing her feet. There was a
great surprise among the people; as her mother died after her birth, so she was named Kauri. Jitto used to call her Bua.
He used to work in the fields all day long and caress the Bua but Baba's aunt Jojaan didn't liked that. Like in childhood, she had tried to kill Baba Jitto many times but by the grace of God, nothing happened to him.
Once Aunt Jojaan and his sons together threw Jitto from the hill on which Baba Kaliveer himself appeared and he saved his life and also punished the Jogi with whose help the aunt and her sons had conspired.
Once due to Aunt Jojaan's sorcery, Bua Kauri became very ill. Baba, who was also a disciple of King Mandalik, tried to cure Bua by tying a thread around her neck but it did not make much difference.
After that, when he invoked Raja Mandalik, Baba did not appear, then Aunt Jojaan taunted Jitto that if he could't cure Bua Kauri then why to worship these emblems of Baba Mandalik, she told him to throw them into the water and she will cure Bua with her power.
Jitto did not like this thing and being deeply hurt he really started hurting the Devasthan. He had just started & Raja Mandalik appeared and punished his aunt and cured Bua. Raja Mandadik didn't appeared earlier because Jojaan had built a wall of bones around Jitto's house
with a mantra to prevent the Raja 's entry, but when question was raised on his existence, Raja appeared through the roof. After this incident, Jitto felt that it is not right to stay there now
because her Aunt Jojaan can go to any extent to harm the Bua, so he left his village the same night and moved towards Garh Panjod & went to the house of his friend, Rulho Lohar. This incident took place about the Bhadrapada month of solar year 4699 of Dogra - Shastri Samvat,
when Baba left his village and came to Rulho Lohar. Baba wanted to find a place and start farming, he talked to his friend Rulho Lohar to get land for farming. Rulho took him to Mehta Bir Singh, the Kardar of Ambghrota taluka, who was a Rakwal Rajput.
Mehta did not have any cultivable land at that time because he had given it all to the farmers, but at Shamachak he had a piece of land which was not at all suitable for cultivation. Baba Jitto had full faith in his hard work and the gods that he would make that land cultivable,
so, he asked for that land.

Mehta made Jitto to get the land for cultivation on lease in the name of Raja Ajaib Dev (king of that time) under the condition that Jitmal i.e. Baba Jitto have to give one fourth of the produce of his agriculture.
Baba Jitto made that land cultivable by his hard work and also built a pond nearby it. Anyone suffering from skin diseases used got cure after bath in that pond. Hisso Megh was the first man whose disease was cured by bathing in that pond who later joined Baba Jitto
to help him in farming. For farming there was need seeds that he got from Nathu Shah.

After getting the seeds, he sowed them in the fields. In the month of Kartik, the wheat plants came out when it rained on time, but when the harvest time came, Mehta Bir Singh got greedy after
after seeing so much crop and at the time when Baba Jitto went to take a bath, he sat like a snake on the den of wheat and started filling the crop himself in all the sacks.
When Baba came to know about this, he reached there running and told Bir Singh that it's not fair as lease document says something else. But when Bir Singh did not agree, Jitto got angry and went to Rulho Lohar's house to collect his dagger (which belonged to Jitto's father)
on which Rulho the blacksmith's wife taunted him saying, "O Pahari Brahmin, you was even not able to take your right in your village and thinking of showing courage here". This made Baba's heart to tear and he moved towards his fields and when he came near, one of Mehta Bir Singh
's companions (who was from Labana caste) tried to stop Baba by beating him with a stick, so that Baba's right muscle on right side of waist got hurt.
Angry Baba Jitto cursed the Labana that whoever dies in your clan after today will die of pain in the right side of the waist. On the other hand, when Mehta started filling wheat forcibly, Baba took his dagger and killed himself by saying "O Jabbar, O kehar" on the heap of wheat
and also said that he was mixing his blood and meat in it, take them also. On the first strike, thick clouds came from the west side and in the second attack it rained heavily, which washed away all the wheat. Whoever ate that wheat, whether it was human or animal, all started
circling and the people of those families still come to pay obeisance at the place of Baba Jitto. Mehta Bir Singh wanted to save himself from brahmahatya but no Brahmin agreed to tell the remedy but one of the Sapolia brahmins greedily told Mehta that if he would put Jitto's body
in the skin of a donkey and hide it in the tree of a Bombax ceiba(Simbal), then he might not get any type of sin & Bir Singh did the same.
Bua Kaudi, after finding the body with the help of her dog, called Nathu Shah to set fire to the father's pyre, and she herself was consumed in it. Since then, Bua Kauri came to be known as Sati Bua Daati. Bua had taken a promise from Nathu Shah that whatever happens,
he will not look back after giving fire but Shah looks back out of curiosity and sees that Bua Bapu was standing outside the fire. That pyre actually kept burning for the whole 27 years and Baba Jitto and Bua Kodi visited every pilgrimage.
On the other hand, after the whole incident happened, Baba's curse made Mehta Bir Singh lunatic and he died in a very bad way and his family also started stumbling from rate to rate. Not only this, Baba also wreaked havoc on the Jammu Raj and Jammu 's Raja send one of his
special retainer Saidu to take revenge on the remaining brothers of Bir Singh and they were expelled from that place in the year 4704 of Dogra- Shastri Samvat, and the rights of zamindari were taken from them. Baba Jitmal was actually a Devansh who was full of divine power, whose
purpose was to mend the Raj and reminded the ruler not to forget his origin & what was truth of Duggar country. After the sacrifice of Baba Jitto, Jammu Raj woke up and everyone got punished who had become poison for the farmers.
Baba Jitto's fight was not against feudalism as modern writers tried to project, but his fight was to remind the feudal lords their duty so that it would never happen again in future and to remind them that in the country of Duggar,
Dev's order should be considered as paramount. This whole incident was actually driven by Shiva himself because he can never let the country of Durgāra to be directionless.

Jai Durgāradesa ✨

The essence of Himalayas is incomplete without making mention of Khasas; of which Dogra is one of important sub-tribe. It's thing of worth mentioning that the dialect of Dogri being spoken in Riasi in the south-east of the river Chenab is commonly known as "Khasi" which is
akin to Khasali dialects of Dogri spoken in Doda and Udhampur, that bring out Dogra 's Khasa relation.

Khas has always been the powerful race whose imprints is easily accessible as far as to Central Asia, Kashgar, Kashkara, the Hindu-Kush, Kashmir and in the territories bearing
similar root name in the hilly areas extending from Durgāra to Nepal. Khasa's frequent mention has been made in various ancient literatures with some variants such as Khasha, Khasa, Khasira & Kasira etc.

The Dogra which is one of the infamous tribe of Khasa stock is seen to

𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵-𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲!

Morethan two weeks has been passed and much awaited response regarding the confusion of birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Bahadur is still to bring out. Today morning I got some messages that I should throw light atleast now as people were
waiting for truth. Following this lead, I am going to talk about my earlier claim that Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra was born on 13th of September rather than the popular belief of 23rd September.
Accepting it as the moral responsibility towards my tribe, I am presenting some of facts regarding the date with some of the authorised attatchments from the archives.

September 23, 2022 , a day which turned special for all the Dogras and celebration took place in name of Maharaja Hari Singh because a declaration was made by Government to declare 23 September as the
Holiday of Maharaja Hari Singh 's birthday but rather than Birthday Holiday, I would consider it as the Remembrance Day in name Maharaja Hari Singh because he was not born on this date in reality.
Keeping all these things aside, I am coming on the topic with respect to which I am writing this article. Under the banner of YRS, the people of Jammu united as the single unit and all the community groups (sabhas) extended their support for the cause what the YRS was asking.

“When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”
The monsoon winds were waiting to spread the fragrance of first rain in the country of five rivers, then a breaking news spread out of Royal Palace like the fire that after the long protracted illness their King slept the silent death.
Intemperate, excessive drinking habits and a large harem containing more than 44 wives of all ages, denominations and grades hastened to ruin his health.

I was waiting for replies from other people but nobody answered that's why I am here to tell you whole story of Baba Kaliveer and Raja Mandlik and the reason why Raja Mandlik is so reputed deity alongwith Baba Kaliveer in Durgara country.
Baba Kaliveer was the son of Raja Ishar and Rani Kesri (Kali Pari, daughter of Lord Indra) of Kashmir. Raja Ishar had no child that's why he went on Tapasya of Lord Shiva and after the long wait of 12 years Lord Shiva gave him boon that Sheshnag will be incarnated in his house.
In Gandmool Nakshatra, Sheshnag incarnated in their home as their son, so, Rani Kesri took the son to Kalika Shaktipeeth where Mahamaya accepted him as his own son, then made him his "Veer" due to which he was named as Kaliveer.
