1/7 Yet another news story highlighting the plight of private renters at the moment and the current “no-fault eviction epidemic” #nofaultevictions bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…
2/7 We’re anxiously awaiting the result of the @WelshGovernment's consultation about plans to extend the six-month notice period landlords are required to give to all existing tenancies
3/7 This needs to happen from 1 December alongside everything else - not 1 June next year as they propose – to prevent a wave of evictions after Christmas
4/7 Our own caseload has seen a 114% increase in “no-fault” #section21 eviction notices since last year. We are constantly hearing how difficult it is to find alternative homes - both for individual households and for local authorities seeking to assist them
5/7 Private renters in Wales face a perfect storm - the existing housing supply emergency, where social housing is like gold dust and ownership is a long way out of reach, the highest rent increase levels outside of London, and a further squeeze on budgets from rising bills
6/7 We believe that certainty for all renters is needed now more than ever and should be introduced as soon as possible
7/7 Changes from 1 December will affect everyone renting in Wales. If you want to find out more, visit gov.wales/tenants-housin…

1/4 Mae @LlywodraethCym wedi cyhoeddi y bydd rhentwyr preifat yn cael cyfnod rhybudd chwe mis o droi allan heb fai o fis Mehefin y flwyddyn nesa gov.wales/renting-homes-…
2/4 Gwnaethom ni alw am y newid hwn ac rydym yn falch iawn y bydd amser ychwanegol hanfodol gan denantiaid os cânt eu troi allan heb fai eu hunain. Ond roeddem ni am weld y newid yn digwydd llawer yn gynt.
3/4 Rhwng nawr a mis Mehefin y flwyddyn nesa, rydym yn ofni y bydd yr epidemig troi allan heb fai cyfredol yn parhau. Yn y tymor hir, rhaid i ni roi terfyn ar rybuddion troi allan heb fai yng Nghymru. Maen nhw’n sylfaenol anghyfiawn.

1/4 The @WelshGovernment has announced that from June next year, all private renters will have six months’ notice of a no-fault eviction gov.wales/renting-homes-…
2/4 We called for this change and we are really pleased that tenants will get extra vital time if they are being evicted through no fault of their own. But we wanted the change in place much sooner.
3/4 Between now and June next year, we fear the current no-fault epidemic may continue. In the long-term, we must end no-fault evictions in Wales. They are fundamentally unjust.

1/7 Stori newyddion arall yn tanlinellu tynged rhentwyr preifat ar y foment a’r “epidemig troi allan heb fai” #troiallanhebfai bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…
2/7 Rydym yn disgwyl yn eiddgar am ganlyniad ymgynghoriad @LlywodraethCym ynghylch cynlluniau i ymestyn y cyfnod rhybudd chwe mis mae’n rhaid i landlordiaid ei roi, i holl denantiaethau cyfredol.
3/7 Mae’n rhaid i hyn ddigwydd o 1af Rhagfyr ochr yn ochr â phopeth arall – nid 1af Mehefin flwyddyn nesaf, fel y bwriedir – i atal ton o droi allan ar ôl y Nadolig.

1/6 We have submitted our response to the @WelshGovernment's consultation about plans to extend the six-month notice period landlords are required to give to apply to existing tenancies
2/6 Shelter Cymru supports increasing the notice period for pre-existing tenancies from two months to six months as soon as the Renting Homes (Wales) Act comes into force on 1 December 2022 #RentingHomes #Wales
3/6 We are pleased that the @WelshGovernment has championed the benefits of longer notice periods - allowing more time to find alternative accommodation locally in our pressurised housing market, for moves to be planned and disruption to family life and finances to be minimised

1/6 Rydym wedi cyflwyno ein hymateb i ymgynghoriad @LlywodraethCym ynghylch cynlluniau i ymestyn y cyfnod rhybudd chwe mis mae angen i landlordiaid ei roi, i gael ei wneud yn berthnasol i denantiaethau presennol
2/6 Mae Shelter Cymru yn cefnogi cynyddu’r cyfnod rhybudd i denantiaethau sy’n bodoli eisoes o ddau fis i chwe mis cyn cynted ag y daw’r Ddeddf Rhentu Cartrefi (Cymru) i rym ar 1 Rhagfyr 2022 #RhentuCartrefi #Cymru
3/6 Rydym yn falch bod @LlywodraethCym wedi cefnogi’r buddion o gyfnodau rhybudd hirach – gan ganiatáu mwy o amser i ddod o hyd i lety arall yn lleol yn ein marchnad dai sydd o dan bwysau, i’r broses o symud gael ei gynllunio heb amharu’n ormodol ar fywyd teuluol a chyllidebau

2/5 The Renting Homes Act means that tenants in Wales will have six months’ notice of a no-fault eviction. BUT this will only apply to new tenancies created after 1 December.
