You may be thinking…”but that’s how I get through quickly!” That may be true…but it sucks the personality right out of your content. UGC is about authenticity and being creative is what keeps us fueled.
(Cont) If we suck the spontaneity out of what we say…we get bored quickly and won’t want to film and our content won’t feel as genuine. Instead, outline the key points you want to discuss, and communicate them naturally as they come…like you’re talking to a friend!
2) I film ALL my B-Roll for every project I’m filming that day first!
I used to film one video at a time from start to finish, but it sucked up tons of time. Doing B-Roll first gets the captivating visuals out of the way, allowing you to focus only on the speaking parts.
(Cont.) In fact, every time I receive product, I film as much B-roll (unboxing, setup, using it, etc.) as possible. What if this client ends up working long term? Having a library of videos to pull from will save so much time when filming future content!
3) I thoroughly plan my shots.
While I don’t script my words, I get super-detailed in the shots I need. There’s nothing worse than thinking you’re finished filming, only to realize you forgot a clip. The thought of getting pretty on my editing days terrifies me!
That’s it! Follow me for more content creation, UGC, and social media tips!
