CCAC meeting tonight. #CCAC1122

realcrozetva.com/2022/11/07/cca…

Going to start being more aware of somehow archiving these tweets, as Twitter as we know it may be going away.
Here we go.

#CCAC1122
Will post the YouTube link from @CrozetGazette ASAP. #CCAC1122
Never mind. No live stream tonight, so they’ll post it in the morning.

#CCAC1122
Lots of people here tonight. Trails Crew always bring people out.

#CCAC1122
No quorum, but lots of people here.

#CCAC1122
Skipping to this part, as we don’t have a quorum.

#CCAC1122
Emily Kilroy talking about staffing at the County, CACs, liaisons, communications, and how they will all interact.

#CCAC1122
Emily talking about January hopefully shift away from County-structured meetings (after the all—CACs-chair-meeting they had recently) back to “what does the Crozet community want to meet/talk about?

#CCAC1122
Emily saying that the County wants to hear from us

Serena - addressing that the 2 new staff members coming on are in 3 year positions

Serena sees the CACs as driving public engagement. Talking about how information is shared. Structures of info such as ref. libraries

#CCAC1122
Me: one of the best things about meeting in person at Crozet Library is the forced hard end to the meetings. :)

#CCAC1122
Joe restating that we will have dedicated staff support, as it’s been a bit chaotic of late.

And that when we have an official public meeting, appropriate County staff will be present.

#CCAC1122
Mallory notes that it would be good to have formal onboarding for new to CAC members.

Allie asks for timeline. Emily says, “certainly by the spring.”

#CCAC1122
Kostas and Allie talking about need to reply-all re: FOIA

Lonnie mentioning the state FOIA program.

#CCAC1122
Serena talking more about what the liaisons’ roles will be.

Public member asking why anyone would work for county for low level, pay, benefits, when it’s a 3 year position. And pushes that County pays 25% under market rate.

(Interesting and unexpected comments)

#CCAC1122
Emily notes that there is a study underway to see how County compensation rates/compares.

And that the 3 year positions are reasonable for these types of positions.

#CCAC1122
Joe states that he’s heartened that we are going to be getting dedicated staff for these roles rather than planning/etc. splitting their roles & responsibilities.

(Makes sense to me)

#CCAC1122
Same guy is asking about how not functional the County site is. Broken links , etc.

I asked that it would be good to see how the new staff are being onboarded, that it would be good to know what projects are submitted, timelines, etc.

#CCAC1122
Joe talking about long range nature of how things work - CIP, smart scale, how things interact, and instill in community to get involved earlier.

@craftypanda I won’t tell. Emily said we’d be happy and excited by the people. And that’s fantastic!!

#CCAC1122
Guy from the public saying it would be helpful to articulate the purpose of the CCAC.

Reasonable.

He’s saying the County should reach out to Roanoke. And to invest significantly in the tech; we are 1995 tech.

Emily - we’re getting started on that.

#CCAC1122
I just looked for the CCAC page on @AlbemarleCounty site; nope. So hard to find.

Minutes approved. My zoom is odd … not seeing a gallery view option, just the person in focus talking. I like gallery better. #CCAC1021
Allie - Comments from the CCAC on upcoming agendas?
