Former Regent Angelo Jimenez envisions a research-powered university that will respond to the problems of the nation and the world. Jimenez plans to focus on research, extension service, and digital transformation of UP.
Salvador Belaro Jr. will craft a plan which will serve as the academic roadmap for the next 20 years. This will contain strategic goals, annual indicators of progress, and multi-year budgets to guide the progress of UP.
Should he become the next UP president, Diliman Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo plans to improve scientific education and research as the university prepares for post-pandemic learning.

Nominee Benito Pacheco emphasized the need for a new interdisciplinary program system. He also plans to remove the maximum residency rule and introduce a more “collective” way of learning in UP.

Jimenez dismissed concerns from the community over the mall's construction, saying the DiliMall deal and other lagging construction projects for academic buildings began prior to the beginning of his term.

He also tried to dismiss the 2004 memorandum of agreement with the Shopping Center stallholders as a pact that did not push through. The former stallholders pushed back, calling out Jimenez for prioritizing commercial establishments over the former Shopping Center tenants.

The six presidential nominees discussed their plans for the next six years, then answered concerns brought by the audience on November 11.
Present at the event were Patrick Alain Alanza, Salvador Jr. Belaro, Angelo Jimenez, Fidel Nemenzo, Fernando Jr. Sanchez, & Benito Pacheco.
Nominees were given ten minutes to share their goals and objectives for the university. The nominees faced the Search Committee composed of the Board of Regents and Chair J. Prospero E. De Vera.

Here are the mechanics of the forum: The six nominees will first draw lots to determine the order of presentation of their mission-vision statements. Each nominee will have 10 minutes. After all nominees have presented, a two-hour question and answer forum will proceed.
