The six presidential nominees discussed their plans for the next six years, then answered concerns brought by the audience on November 11.
Present at the event were Patrick Alain Alanza, Salvador Jr. Belaro, Angelo Jimenez, Fidel Nemenzo, Fernando Jr. Sanchez, & Benito Pacheco.
Nominees were given ten minutes to share their goals and objectives for the university. The nominees faced the Search Committee composed of the Board of Regents and Chair J. Prospero E. De Vera.
The next president is expected to continue honor and excellence in all constituents despite facing an impending 22.5 billion peso budget cut for 2023. The UP president selection will take place on December 9, 2022. #UPPrexy

The six UP presidential nominees faced the UP constituency in the public forum today in Cine Adarna, UP Diliman. Here’s what each nominee vowed to fulfill once selected as UP president.
Former Regent Angelo Jimenez envisions a research-powered university that will respond to the problems of the nation and the world. Jimenez plans to focus on research, extension service, and digital transformation of UP.
Salvador Belaro Jr. will craft a plan which will serve as the academic roadmap for the next 20 years. This will contain strategic goals, annual indicators of progress, and multi-year budgets to guide the progress of UP.

Here are the mechanics of the forum: The six nominees will first draw lots to determine the order of presentation of their mission-vision statements. Each nominee will have 10 minutes. After all nominees have presented, a two-hour question and answer forum will proceed.

BREAKING: The President's Advisory Council recommends to end the semester on April 30, giving students a deferred grade. "None of the students will fail should they meet the requirements," the document read. The deadline of completion is until May 31, 2021.
Students who enrolled in prerequisite courses are also allowed to proceed to higher level courses, provided that the offering unit provides a bridging program in order to help the students cope.
Faculty members, departments, institutes, or colleges must also reach out to the students to inform them of any adjustments in the course syllabi and other completion requirements by May 1, 2020.
