2. In the strike, email admin/department head/ college dean/UC president - Tell them the breadth of impacts the strike is having on your lab, and encourage them to bargain fairly with us so we can all come back to the work we love.
3. As much as possible, do not complete struck duties. The strike is powerful when UC sees all of the essential work that we do when it is not getting done (so if you just take on 20h of our work, that is 20h of essential labor no longer being struck)
3 continued- Under HEERA, faculty do not need to volunteer to perform struck work that is outside customary duties. See @uc_faculty FAQ #8. cucfa.org/2022/11/faqs-f…
4. Talk to people about the strike. Tell your students/PDs that you respect their rights as strikers. Tell other faculty to do the same.
We are not striking against faculty and do not want to cause issues for you- we strike for future and current grad students & PDs so they can focus on the cool science and not on how to pay for rent and food. We are grateful for your understanding and support!
Here are all of these support options in a google doc for easy emailing/ sharing outside of twitter: docs.google.com/document/d/1RG…
