China will not fully reopen to the world anytime soon.
But China can ease access to mainly business people and international students since the pandemic shield has been put in place.
In the meantime, China is fighting a much bigger war than the pandemic.

Why did China shoot missiles into the ocean? To kill fish?
The PLA drills are viewed by some as merely a show of strength. No!
It is the 1st phase of reunification.
In this 🧵, we will look at the situation clearly.
First, let’s look at what’s hiding in the ocean…
-1
China shot missiles at the selected targets east of the island for one reason: to tell the opposition force that the PLA knew where their submarines were hiding.
The submarines are loaded with nuclear weapons capable of flattening major Chinese cities.
-2
The PLA has mobilized 200,000 troops to prepare for war. The cost is more than $1 billion.
There is no turning back for China. It is not a drill. This military operation has one well-defined objective – Reunification.

@thecyrusjanssen Cyrus, I respectfully disagree that the biggest reason for China’s Zero Covid policy is political. And I disagree that Shanghai lockdown is causing as much damage as you pointed out. Here are my points. 1/13
@thecyrusjanssen Shanghai has 1.6% of China’s population. Shanghai is part of China. But Shanghai is not China. You live in the US/Canada. I live in Shenzhen. Majority of people I speak with here support Zero Covid policy. And we think Shanghai should have locked down earlier. 2/13
@thecyrusjanssen Will China lockdown entirely? No one knows. But most of us here are not worrying. Because people see that the government is getting a lot more effective in managing outbreaks. 3/13
